I read about this just this weekend. Thawed meat will last in the refrigerator for a couple of days. You can refreeze the meat as long as you have thawed it in the refrigerator and not let it sit out at room temp.

thawed meat should be cooked within 3-4 days of defrosting, unless its fish and then cook it asap. You can refreeze meat that has been thawed, as long as you first thawed it in the fridge, not the microwave or on the counter.

Never, never re-freeze it. Unless you want to poison yourself to get the week off work. It will last a day or two in the fridge after thawing. As long as you have let it thaw naturally, as opposed to putting it in the microwave. If you thaw it in the microwave you really need to cook it right afterwards.

different types of meat allow different times. Example, chicken thawed 2 days tops, beef 3 days. If frozen, then thawed, DO NOT REFREEZE. Better safe than sorry when it comes to consuming meats of any kind.

After meat is thawed you cannot re-freeze it.
Meat will keep a couple of days in the refrigerator after being thawed....if more than three days discard into trash bin.

I personally wouldn't use thawed meat after 2 days. I suppose you can refreeze it, but it will probably affect the taste and texture.
Be aware that freezing does not kill all bacteria. It just slows it down.

Absolutely do NOT refreeze meat.
My mother always told me that the smaller the meat is cut, i.e. - hamburger ground meat - the faster it will spoil. Also after you have thawed frozen meat - you should prepare that day or the day after.

I have done that and the only thing that happened was that the taste was affected so it is not really recommended. It also depends upon how long it was originally frozen and then how long it remained thawed. I would suggest instead cooking it up right now into various types of dishes and then freeze the results after cooking such as in a stew, goulash, etc.

you cannot keep thawed meat very long in the fridge, also you can not re-freeze it. Once you have cooked it and made extra's then you can freeze the cooked meat.
