Yeah. I prayed to God to allow me to believe in Him. Never happened. It was devastating at first, but then I looked around and saw how lots of people who did were living sad oblivious lives and just accepting what they are told. I now feel completely liberated from the shame priests, churches, and Bible study placed on me for being a free thinker.

I prayed because I hated my job... the people were driving me nuts and I was miserable... I prayed for something to change...
and it did...
I got fired.... (wait there's more)
I was unemployed for 2 months and was turned down for unemployment... savings exhausted... options windled from few to none... even to the point where I was trying to figure out how to sell some of my stuff... and as Ieviction proceedings were being filed against me, I even tried to sell my computers... nothing was working, no matter how hard I prayed...
THEN SUDDENLY...
A check arrived in the mail... very much against precedent, the company I worked for decided not to fight my request for unemployment insurance... rent got paid... I wasn't evicted....
The next day I got an offer from a competing company... which of course I accepted... and now am making more money than I was at the other job... at my old job, I was the night manager... now I'm not an hourly employee... so I have less stress and responsibility on my shoulders, not to mention a steady schedule (as opposed to the one I had before where my schedule ranged from 5-1 to 12-8, depending on what was going on...)
So... yeah.. I prayed... and it seemed like I didn't get an answer...
turns out... my answer was this: Trust God and things WILL work out...
Oh... did I mention that with less than 2 months at my new job, I've been approved for financing for a new car???

Yes, I have prayed and didn't get what I ask for. Yes that is annoying. Sometimes I wish I could control the prayers God answers and when He answers them, especially when it a request that I consider to be one of the simple ones that I know would be less than a partial thought to Him .

I know most people don't like being told "no." I see you are one of them.
Prayer is to draw us nearer to God and His will. It's not an empty check, waiting to be written.
There are three answers to prayers:
1) Yes, and you may have it now...
2) No (If it hurts you, someone else or it is not in My big picture) I want what is best for you.
3) Be Patient, you must wait for My perfect timing...
You must pray the Fathers will if you want it to be answered. It's as simple as that...
Grace to you!!!

What is annoying is this question. Just because prayers do not get answered in the way that we think, does not mean anything.
If it were not for prayer, my dad would no longer be here...my grandma would of long since been gone..and my life would be in shambles.
Prayer changes things..and it is just like believing in God..doesn't matter if you believe it or not..that doesn't change the facts!

Yeah I've had that happen to me all the time. But God has also never let me down when I really needed something.
If God gave us everything we asked for, what kind of loving father would he be? How would we turn out? We would be just like the kids whose parents give them everything, spoiled, sheltered, bored, miserable, and totally out of touch with reality. I'm sure my parents could have given me a couple hundred bucks a month when I was a kid but I'm glad they didn't.
God likes to do wondurful things for us, but he also likes to show us what we are capable of when we have faith in him. This is how we grow.

Hahahahahaha! That's funny. Yeah, I've always had that too and then that's when I woke up and realized that there is no god and that I was only talking to myself like a schizophrenic. "Sorry, all lines are busy, but your prayer is important to us, please try again later." lol That's gold! I gotta remember that one...

God doesn't always answer prayer the way we'd like. He never promised He'd answer with the answer we desire. Also, He answers in the way He feels is best for you. We don't always know what's best for us, but He does. It's just like when our children ask us for something that they truly believe they just have to have but we don't give it to them because we don't think it's appropriate for them. Same thing. We don't always get what we want from God, but we do get what we need. And to give up on God, means you're allowing the enemy to win.

Do you honestly think that God has nothing better to do than answer every little mundane pray that we care to utter? Take a look around I'm sure he has his hands full taking care of the bigger issues
