A friend of mine will be graduating soon with a "practical" degree and though it is a more stable line of work she doesn't want to do it for the rest of her life. She wants to go to an art institute to pursue gaming animation but she doesn't think she'll be able to afford it. Are there any other resources out there for a second degree-seeking student other than loans?

Most of the scholarships and grants that are offered by the college are for first-time degree seeking students.

Sure, tell her to check the local college, (or where ever she is interested) with the financial aid dept. They can help her apply for grants, or maybe even scholorships. If not, they can probably point her in the direction of someone who can help. It doesn't hurt to type it into the search bar either, and see what comes up. I do it all the time. Good luck to you both, Hope this helps.

Talk to the Student Aid office at the university - they will go over all the grants and scholarships available for the particular field of study.
