Just asking this question, for would it not be better if someone who believe's in the muslim way of life step's up to the mark and has a positive influence on the younger generation of muslim's and give them a good role model to follow, someone who understands them, for the more attention we give to Bid Laden the more younger generations will idolise him, just like the street kids did with krays in the the 60's....

They are all of the islamic faith and can not be adored by those who don't know the true beauty of islam. Read poetry by RUMI. A 12th century muslim mystic. He was an islamic teacher for years till one day he came accross a man that changed his life forever. His poetry is very inspirational. I never knew there were people like this within islam. Imagine he was a teacher of islam and what he manifested into. And of course, there is always Malik Shabaz(Malcom X). PEACE!

Yusuf Islam (Cat stevens) is a famous Muslim who has had a profound effect on my life, not only through his music but his philosophy and religious conviction. I look up to him, even though I am a Catholic.

that bloke off BBC news is a Muslim, obviously not that famous cos i can't memba his name. although it means he can bring a Muslim point of view and also shows a Muslim taking a stand against terrorism

Well, there are plenty of famous muslims, but most people would agree that they wouldn't be good islamic role models. I'm not saying that Bin Laden is.
