Hell and Hades are the same place.

The common grave of mankind.

Webster's Third New International Dictionary says: Hell from the word to conceal

The word hell originally conveyed no thought of heat or torment but simply to be covered over.

In old english the expression helling potatoes meant not to roast but to place them in the ground or in a cellar.

The bosom position of Abraham means to be in a favorable position with God.

Since the Dead are conscience of nothing (Eccl 9:5,10), they can not be tormented.

so the vision of the rich man and Lazarus Luke 16, was an illustration showing that God was taking the approved position from the Pharises and giving it to those who would be Christians.

Luke 16: 14-17

Gehenna, was a garbage dump where those who didn't warrent a resurrection were completely destroyed by fire. (not tormented forever)

The Lake of Fire is like Gehenna, the second death, a place where there is no hope of living again.

Immortailty is a reward for faithfulness.

Ez. 18:4 teaches that the soul dies.

Hades is the Greek 'underworld' or afterlife. Hell is the translation of the Christian term for a place of suffering not yet created, though it was foretold. Abraham's Bosom is another term for the Hebrews' Sheol, which is their version of the afterlife. Sorry but I can't reel off boat loads of scripture to support this answer. Read the book yourself.

Hell, Hades,Sheol are the same thing.

Hades is the Hebrew equvilent to the greek word Sheol which means "the all-demanding world"

Abraham's bosom no one knows what that is, it could be heaven, could be paradise....it could mean anything.
