I am making a robot and I need some metal rod with a hydraulic hard chrome finish in 1/4" diamter.. or somewhere around 1/4". But I can't find it anywhere on the net. It would be ok if it was hollow too.. I want to run somekind of plastic sleeving on it.. or whatever material is frictionless and runs the smoothest.

Does anyone know where I can get this stuff?

You need to talk to these guys. Chrome is a very expensive business, so it's hard to find consumer chrome products. Very few people have the know-how and the license to chrome things. I doubt you'll find something with 1/4" of chrome. Anyway, give these guys a call and see what they can get you:

I read this question earlier. Try some specialty companies you can find what you are looking for in the Thomas register or even the yellow pages. Be prepared to pay the $Price.
