how do i get a dvd drive 4 my laptop,,my hard-drive was wiped and now wont play dvds, it did play them b4?

my harddrive was wiped on my laptop and now will not play dvds,,it says i need a dvd decoder,,how do i get 1,,my laptop is an ergo microlite,,it always played dvds before and im at a loss now as to what to do,,can i download a dvd drive or decoder,,please help if u can,,thanks,
