if you mean how long until it shows in your blood stream, it can vary depending on your system and what else you have consumed at the same time. anywhere from 10-30 minutes is correct.

if you mean how long it stays... it would depend on your BAC(blood alcohol concentration).

alcohol is metabolized at the rate of .015 of BAC every hour. this is for EVERYONE and does not vary depending on body type, weight, metabolism and so on...

e.g.
a very high BAC of .15 will fully metablolize and have no measure after approx. ten hours.

a BAC of .10 will fully metablolize and have no measure after around six and a half hours.

to find out how long you must wait before your system is "clean" use the following math

(BAC) divided by .015 = (hours)

The depends on your personal absorption rate, but alcohol can enter your blood stream simply by smelling the drink, through the thin membranes of the sinuses.
