Five years later we still remember.
We still stand in awe.
Tears still brim in our eyes,
We shall never for get it all.
Naivity left us.
It simply took it's leave.
We united as a nation,
And still for those we grieve.
We are stronger for it.
We are wiser too.
We have lost our innocence,
But to your memories been true.
United we stand together,
There is strength in that sweet phrase.
We will remember you always,
We can see through the haze.
The Flag still flies in freedom,
Our anthem still rings clear.
Rest in peace dear Patriots,
But remember us down here.

The rhyming is a little labored in places, but It's good! (the last 4 lines gave me goosebumps)

What to I think? The meter is nonexistent. It sounds more like prose than poetry. As for the message, we all grieve what happened five years ago -- but this smacks of Jingoism.

Some of this didn't make any since to me and I didn't see any rhyming like one would see in most poetry somewhere in the poem. It needs revamping. Use Spell check.
