We claim to be christians, but today I was sadly disappointed when I came out to the car from shopping, and I had heard that a disabled veteran had asked many people for a ride not more than 5 blocks away, and one person in a van even pointed for him to get, shouldn't we ask ourselves what would Jesus Christ do, in these situations, instead of carrying on with our own personal agenda, shouldn't we take time out to help others?

Most people are afraid. And also seem to be not aware of their own existence let others. Sadly Christians are not immune to this either. The need and feeling to help must be in a persons heart or it won't be real. It is way out of some of our comfort zones also. I am working on this in a big way in my life. Bless you for bringing up a good question.

The time and energy it takes for us to question the actions of others, that is wasted time. Are we a one on one with the creator or who ever you refer to or the source of everything. You might not realize the fact that this could be called judging. From the time you are born until you are around five years old your mind has been programed about 50% of what you feel about your self and the world around you. By the time you are seven your opinion has developed about 80%. Your view points were learned from the view points of others. When out times comes and we are asked why we said or did something , what will the answer be?? We are examples everyday everywhere we go. Are we using church beliefs to battle the worlds situations ? Or are we caring enough to love his creation. Our own thoughts and action are what we are accountable for. We help others in so many ways.

Yes, Jesus wants us to help, but he has also instilled in us a Holy Spirit of Wisdom , to know who to help. If a man in the van couldn't help him, then that is not good. It should be the men, who would help this disabled Vet. Now days, people are leery of helping. I would have given him a ride , if I would have had another passenger with me. But be careful. It would be ok to stop to help, or get help for him. Take time to try to get help for him. When it comes to children, I would help any of them, without question. Nice thought tho., to help all people. Yes, Jesus would have stopped to help and even heal this disabled man. Always analyze and use your esp.

I think Jesus expects us to use common sense in our dealings with our fellow man, and many people do what they can, with what they have, to assist the needy, besides offer a ride to a stranger (which could be dangerous)
sadly, however, it is true, many people would rather ignore their neighbor than love them, but that should not stop you

This is truly a saddening & infuriating thing to see.

Unfortunately, Christians are often to "busy" to help, as are most all humans. Self-preservation is a defining aspect of human nature.

Fortunately, there are some of us still around who help little old ladies cross the street, & read to nursing home residents, etc.

Main thing is, do what you can, when you can. Look for opportunities to help those whom God has placed in your path.

With all the evil in the world people are afraid to help other people. You never know if that person you are helping is going to be the one to put a bullet in your head or thank you for the help.

It's a shame people are such cowards and insensitive jerks. No one wants to get involved, they care too much about themselves and no one else.
