Try doing something you wouldn't normally do. It will keep your mind off of the current. You will be so wrapped up in the new, you won't think of the old.

Too much on your mind. Start running and getting the endorphins going, anything physical. You might need more Serotonin, check with the doctor. They have ways of asking you questions to find out if you need more or not. Basically, if you take an antidepressant, it puts a chemical in your brain that you have anyway, but maybe not enough, and just lets you think better. If you do not feel any diff., then that is not it, but if you do feel better, then that is the problem. They put you on a very low dose, at first, so don't be too alarmed about it, and also will monitor you too. They don't just give you these meds, without following you closely. If you have had this for a long time, this could be the problem. It runs in families, my sisters and I all take diff. meds to up our Serotonin, it is not anything to be ashamed of, believe me. It is when you do not get the problem solved that is the bad solution. One sister has her Masters Degree, and the other one is a famous writer.

Usually this means that you have alot of different things on your mind - you need to eliminate some of the things you don't need to think about - you might want to see a doctor and find out if may be there is a chemical imbalance!@

As the first answerer said, exercise may help. Also, on your next physical examination, ask the doctor to test you for high insulin production (hyperinsulinemia). That condition can lead to other conditions and imbalances that may interfere with clear thinking.

I'm sorts this way, I think I have an over active mind. In some ways it's good since I'm eager to learn to new things. Walking really helps relax both my mind and my body.

Worry about the future will do it.
Do some daily weightlifting. That will force your mind to focus and everything will become clearer again.
