It's my choice. If there really is any danger of punishment for such a thing it will only effect me. Does anyone really have the right to tell me not to say "G.D. IT" or make jokes about Jesus?

It's not a naughty pleasure of mine. I am just inquisitive and free minded... often times i'll say things that people don't agree with and many times it will be percieved as blaspemy. I don't see how it's the same as farting or belching in a resturaunt either. It's simply me expressing myself... and as long as i'm not attacking you personally, i don't see any reason anyone should say anything about it.

If someone's offended by the words i use isn't it their problem? They are just words... It's very easy to not be offended by words or ideas unless they pose a direct threat to you.

You have the right to do anything you feel. Its on you. Also, people can tell you how they feel about it, it may offend them. We all have the right to express ourselves.

You are absolutely right... you are the only one in danger for committing these acts...

Christians however are obliged to warn you of the impending judgement... a friendly warning, but warning nonetheless.

You are always welcome to tell any Christian that you are well aware of the punishment the Bible promises and you gladly accept it... after that, they shouldn't have much more to say to you on the issue.

Sorry you've made that choice, but it is your choice to make, and we as Christians have to respect that.

Jesus did not frighten His followers into better behavior. Instead, He appealed to their better natures. Why do you feel it necessary to blaspheme? Do you get a naughty thrill from it? That is like exposing yourself to people, you are performing a behavior for your own pleasure, not to be shared
that makes people uneasy, just like if you were playing with yourself when you talk to them
or pick your nose

In truth, very few care, many may not like it, for it offends them, but unto you I think they could not care less.
a few (very damn few) are saddened that you a child of God will be destroyed, and it pains them to the core.

But on the bright side, you will not be the first and after a few thousand, whats one more?

if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around to hear it - does it make a sound? when you blaspheme the name of God and Christ aloud and people hear it - they have every right to comment. you see, while yes, you have freedom of speech, yours extend only as far as mine begin.
besides there is the old school rule of manners & common courtesy.

Yah , it is your right to say GD, because it is freedom of speech. But we who don't like to hear the name of the Lord taken in vain, is having that slander pushed down our throats and we don't like it. If your making jokes about Jesus, then do it around your kind of people. I am like an old mother hen. My feathers stand up on my back when I hear you or others mocking and making fun of someone who I truley believe in. Yep your right on. It will be you who have to answer for whatever you do or say. Just don't push it down our throats. We all have the right to tell you , that you have a potty mouth and don't like to hear GD. We also have freedom of speech to tell you, to stop it. So I guess what goes around , comes around. What is good for the goose is good for the gander. God says: THOU SHALT NOT TAKE THE NAME Of THE LORD TH THY GOD IN VAIN, FOR THE LORD WILL NOT HOLD HIM GUILTLESS,
WHO TAKETH HIS NAME IN VAIN.

You can say Goddammit. I can say the Virgin Mary raped me. And they can say shut the hell up you goddamn spawn of satan.

Free speech means everyone can say what they want.

That doesn't mean everyone has to agree or listen.

Because when you do it to us, it actually hurts. I don't know what kind of relationship you have with your parents, but I loved my dad very much. I love my heavenly Father very much too and if you curse them or slander them or insult or ridicule them it hurts me. Wouldn't it hurt you if someone cursed your father or mother and made fun of them?
