I have been in a relationship for 5 years. I love my BF but I love to flirt. It's just nice to know that guys are still interested, even if I'm not. I like to go out drinking and dancing with guys. All my friends are guys (but I'm not the least bit attracted to any of them).Sometimes I get jealous of single people. However, I can't stand him even talking to another girl. I know I'm wrong for this. I'm just scared he may find something better. How do I not let it bother me?

Maybe you aren't exactly a hypocrite but insecure. You flirt often because it boosts your ego but you're afraid that he will find something better. If you are confident about yourself then even if you were a natural flirt you would never be worried about such things because you would think you're the best. Also your flirting does not serve your purposes. You want to make sure you've still got it- I totally understand the feeling and many girls do it. But even being reassured that you've 'got it' is not enough when it comes to your boyfriend. You cannot stifle him or flip out in jealousy over other girls because if he wasn't looking for anyone else, that will definitely push him away. He will think that you are a hypocrite and may not understand your lack of confidence. If you want to improve your relationship, make sure that you spend plenty of time with him and invest in your relationship. If you don't trust him there's no point in being together, and if he doesn't complain about your male friends then that's good for you- he trusts you and is confident in your relationship. You must be whole without compliments from other men and fears that he will 'find something better'- he is with *you* for a reason. Fear and insecurity only leads down the road of break-up.

It's best to start out by being honest with yourself. Are you really not attracted to the guys you drink and dance with? If the positions were reversed, would you let your man do these things?
And then be honest with him. What are your intentions when you're spending time with other men? Do you want to make him jealous? Explain to him what you need from him that he doesn't provide.
When things like this bother you, it's your conscience speaking.

If you won't him to be only interested in you be only interested in him.It is fun playing each round but sit a few out!I mean if he's the greatest thing you've laid eyes on treat him like it.If he isn't get rid of him or just keep him for some odd reason.But seriously if you have problems with him talking to other girls and things like that think how would he feel about me if he knew how you are.SWorry if my answer is a little out of whack but today hasn't been the best.Good luck

I wish I had an answer for this. I had the same thing from the mans perspective. I had a GF who I loved tremendously. But she could go out and date and have "fun" with whoever she wanted. While I couldn't do anything but sit at home and wait for her.
But my word, if I even emailed another women I was in dutch for weeks.
BY the way, she married one of the men she was having "fun"
with and it wasn't me. After a time she said "I don't need you anymore"
I would also tell you that relationship went on for 7 years.

You sound a little insecure, but that's not a horrible thing. You need to make sure your BF is somebody you can trust. There's no excuse for dating somebody you can't trust. Then you need to trust him.

Well if you like the way your life is, then you can not do anything about his. You need to stop your immature ways, and then he should stop his. You know what you are and you can not do anything till you stop.
