If you are a breeder or know of one - what is the birds life like? Do they eat good? Do they enjoy clean cages? Where do they get these breeder parrots/bird from?

hand raised ones by honorable breeders are taken care of well.
Most exotic birds sold in pet stores are wild caught. I dont remember that exact ratio, but an apalling number of birds are taken from the wild for each one that makes it to the pet store because so many are killed along the way, due to harsh methods of capture/transport, birds that get sick changing enviornments, bird that wont eat, have parasites, the list goes on. I am far from a bunny-hugger, but the exotic bird market like the exotic reptile market is pretty ugly.

It depends entirely on the breeder. There are those who keep only a few pairs at a time, don't breed them often, treat them as pets with all the toys and affection, and personally hand-feed the babies AFTER the parents have had a few weeks to start the process. I did it this way myself for several years--it's great for a breeder who's doing it more for the love of the birds than for profit. I got my several cockatiels from different sources, including a very good bird-friendly breeder (the health and loving attitude of her birds spoke loudly for how they were treated) and a home that couldn't take care of its pet-store-bought bird anymore. I adored my birds, and if I ever breed them again, I'll do it the same way.

Then of course there are the breeders who see their animals as first and foremost a moneymaking business, and farm the birds as they might farm tomatoes (making as much profit with as little space and effort as possible). You never know unless you visit the breeder's home/business and get to know him/her and interact with the birds there. It is ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS better to buy from a private breeder (rather than a pet store owned by a corporation) that you can visit.

Depends on the breeder. Life in a cage with someone going out to check on you in thier breeders building 4 or 5 times a day to see if you are ready to breed, feed and clean your pin one of the times and check on the little one just hatched or hatching the other times they come out to the building. This is unless you are one of the chosen few that are the favorites. oh this is just the domestic ones. On exotics a large number are caught and then are hard to tame when bought by people.

it's a very hectic life- constant round of parties, a lot of drinking, boy birds hitting on you constantly, sex all the time... It is dreadful.
