I personally believe Mankind invented God not the other way round.
If we had opted for a female figure head, would religeon have taken a different path; say more tolerant and more forgiving?

Of course this only a conjector. I can imagin some of the answers from men already

There already are religions with female gods.

Wicca has a female Goddess and, as a whole, they are more tolerant and forgiving.

The idea of a Male God was started with the beginning of Christianity, in the Catholic Church. They voted to leave the women angle out of the Bible, and as such women have a Bad Role in the "Holy Book". This was to draw differences between Paganism and Catholicism. Protestantism wasn't around yet.

Christianity can be a very good faith to follow, but I find it sad that too many people don't realize that alot was left out or taken out later.

Well i believe that you are wrong, god created the earth and all the animals and then humans but how do you know that god is not a women? and i believe that it would make no difference at all because god is forgiving, and it is humans that do wrong things and not forgive or be tolerant not god. God created free will and this is why God does not step in and help because i believe that god thinks that you should learn by your mistakes but he will help you sometimes

WHAT IF ... being MEN they created their "gods" and religion as in a masculine form..

Your question: "would religeon have taken a different path" [?]

I dont think so, men AND women are as capable of making up superstious hearsay the same as men.

But for years (before Christianity) many religions HAVE chosen a female goddess - ISIS, Hera, all the roman and greek goddesses, and then there were the hundred pagan goddesses who unlike the roman and greeks weren't overruled by an ultimate male god...
These religions/cultures were all working just fine till a Jew was misinterpreted! (no offence)
Why the assumption that having a female goddess would have made the religion any more tolerant?

I don't think there would've been much difference. God is an invention used to keep the masses in line. If a female god were created, it would've been because females were dominant in society and we'd ultimately end up at the same place.

Several religions have invented a female God, if you're curious about the paths those religions ended up taking, just do a little research.

christianity is all about forgiveness whereas other religions arent

if God only wanted men, he would only have created men, but instead made man and woman in his image

more tolerant?!! is that because you dont like some of the things said by God, which is why you choose not to believe in him?

are you suggesting males arent tolerant or forgiving?

How many men do you know who are dating , married or would like a girlfriend......does this not suggest our need for them, which has been given to us by God (check out genesis)

God obviously must be a woman. If God was a man then there is no way (without sounding rude) he would have created males with their balls on the outside of their bodies when he could have put them on the inside to prevent the pain of them recieving a good kick!

No I don't believe society would be more forgiving under women.... Women can be just as cruel as men. We forget our matriarch- Mrs Thatcher. Remember what she did to the UK miners and our manufacturing industries? She crushed a generation of good men. Whoever has the power will eventually abuse it, regardless of gender.
