Not necessary. I have had rat terriers and even cats that ate a rat or two.Rats are known to carry nearly 70 diseases, but it is suspected actually harbour a lot more. I suggest that you take her to the vet just to be sure that she is ok or if you start noticing anything thats abnormal for her, take her right away to the vet, make sure you remember when she ate the rat. I hope that she will be ok and all, bet she has some terrier in her, eh?

as long as rat is not desiesed your dog will be fine. Maybe not the best food but should be fine. Like a cat eating a fish or a bird. Just try and not let the dog make this a habit.

No, unless you wanted to eat the rat. Then you will be mean to your dog, and that might be bad for her.

IF IT WAS SLOW ENOUGH FOR YOUR DOG TO CATCH IT, ITS POSSIBLE THAT IT HAD BEEN POISENED. I WOULD BE MORE WORRIED ABOUT THAT THAN THE RAT ITSELF. ID CALL THE VET.

uh call your vet - now

Rats have more diseases then your dog is probably vaccinated against. If it was slow enough to get caught by your dog it was probably sick.

No necessarily, but make sure your dog has been vaccinated against rabies.

I suggest calling your vet. I'm sure it's fairly common. They'll know if it's serious or not.
