According to God and the Bible, it is the same as gay sex and divorce. So, the question should be" When are the Christians going to stop divorcing and free-phucking, and make it against the law like they are attempting to do with gay marriage?
Oh wait a sec......Christians actually enjoy premarital sex and divorce is a large part of their society, so they are just gonna ignore those Bible passages and concentrate only on the REAL HEINOUS sins - as THEY delegate them.... phucking hypocrites...

Because it is PRE matrial NOT being married.
Statics's say when the sexual relovtuion came in the 60s the cases of divorce started to incline and rise that is no consequent.
There are more important things to life than instant gratification and premarital sex.

Lots. God designed you to be w/ one (thats ONE!) person. You are being unfaithful to him/her whenever you even think of someone else in a sexual way. The Bible calls that adultery. (Matthew 5:28)
Also, if you wait, you can give the person you're going to marry the gift of your virginity. Thats a great and rare gift nowadays.
I suggest you read these books:
1) "When Dreams Come True"
2) "When God Writes Your Love Story"
3) "When God Writes Your Life Story"
These books are all written by the same authors: Eric and Leslie Ludy.
Also, if you are a guy, you should read "God's Gift to Women - Discovering the Lost Greatness of Masculinity" by Eric Ludy. If you're a girl, read "Authentic Beauty" by Leslie Ludy.

It is considered a form of adultary if one isn't going to marry person (against future spouse).
So, even premarital sex with possible future spouse, who one does marry, has some marriage problems if unequally yoked together.
When one is asked to be married & accepts, it shows commitment to each other. If respect for each other & wait till marriage, God will bless special.

What's wrong with Abstinence? What's wrong with virginity? What's wrong with saying No? What's wrong with doing the right thing?
Purity and virginity is the finest gift to give your future life-mate; your future wife; the mother of your children.
You don't want to raise your grandkids, do you? Set an example by living a clean life; your children and grandchildren will follow your ways when they see the benefits of abstaining from fornication.
Find a good church that will encourage you to proper behavior. Save yourself some pain and regrets.
My best to you as you question your major life decisions....

I actually DO believe that if we all stopped having pre-marital sex, life might be quite a lot happier. But I don't live by that rule.
STD rates would drop, and there would be no more youth pregnancy. We wouldn't witness so many 'you slept with my boyfriend you *insert word here*' spats, and kids wouldn't feel such pressure to do things they aren't emotionally (and sometimes physically) ready for.
However, I don't feel that we, as people, are designed not to have premarital sex. We're born to reproduce, and it shows - our hormones rage at an age far earlier than we should be considering settling down and getting married, and we even invented tools to help us reduce the negative risks associated with pre-marital sex, such as condoms to prevent STI transmission and hormonal birth control methods to help reduce the risk of pregnancy.

There are profound, deep reasons why it's wrong. But for right now, I'll say that God has laws regarding relationships just as the military has laws that are necessary for order. We might not understand all of the reasons. I believe it and it took me a lot of years, but I know the vast majority of people won't believe it.
The poster above is correct - guaranteed divorce is nearly 50 per cent because of this.

There is no meaning for the wedding because nothing of it would be sacred. Marriages lost the meaning. Now it is more like a big party. Premarital sex? GOD says?
