It depends on the shelter. I have adopted 3 times from three different agencies. It varied from $50-$90. The most require that you pay for the spay or neutering of the animal before you can adopt. Others also require a fee or donation to help keep the adoption center up and running. The best way to find out is to call and ask. After paying the adoption fees, remember there will still be other cost involved. You will need food and supplies for your new friend as well.

It depends on the shelter, and sometimes, the dog's situation. Generally anywhere from $25-100....typically towards the low end of that. Check out petfinder.com or find some shelter websites. Most shelters now have listings or at least adoption info on the web. Please remember that there are many additional costs above and beyond the cost of the dog...food, collar, leash, dishes, training, vet, etc.

It depends on the shelter some charge 32.00 for dogs some charge up to 95. but the 95. one will be fixed rabies UTD on shots etc the 32. one is AS IS so be careful because alot of the dogs could be heartworm positive which then will be another 300. or more out of your pocket. or a puppy could have parvo which could taminate your yard and house for up to 7 yrs so be ware and ask alot of ? where the dog came from etc. make your self a list of ? to take with you also make sure you know what type of dog you want remember a dirty notted up mutt could be something beautiful under neath I found that out. Hope I help you out some

Somewhere around $100. You have to take into consideration that this includes spaying or neutering too! It also usually depends if you are a resident of the city or the county where the shelter is located. Some charge more if you are "out of area".

I just adopted a dog from the Kankakee County Humane Society (Illinois) -- she came spayed, current on all of her shots and tests, and on Interceptor and Frontline and dewormed. The adoption fee was $90.

It varies by city. In Chicago the Anti-Cruelty Society adoption fee is $55 and you get a neuter and shots with that along with some other fun stuff for your new friend.

It varies. Sometimes they are so desperate for a home, the dogs are free. Call up your local pound first, because those dogs are more in danger of getting put down. Call today, so you get first choice!
