Why not adopt a little boy? That way you can get the boy you want and help society. There are so many cute infants and children that need a good home and your little girls could help with raising him.

Awww. I'm sorry you're sad about it. I can understand how hard it is, when your kids aren't exactly everything you dreamed of. You probably know how much fun little boys are, and how great it is to have girls and boys in the family.
My kids weren't all I hoped for, either. They were both adopted as teens, and both of them have some pretty tough emotional and physical problems. It's not what I dreamed of, that's for sure. I was depressed for a long time after we gave up on trying to conceive. I didn't know what to do either, because I knew logically there was nothing wrong with having something different than what I originally imagined. But, I was still so dang depressed over it! And then my kids came along, and in the instant I saw them, I knew they were right, and they were the reason that it happened this way, so I could have them. I still am a little sad for what I didn't get, but I rather like what I did get.
There is a story told, among those of us with kids that aren't what we expected, about a world in which everyone gets to go visit Italy, and everyone talks about how great and wonderful it is, and it's the perfect thing, and it's exactly what everyone should want and get in life. And you got on the plane for your trip, and for some reason ended up in Holland instead. Having a child that isn't what you hoped for is a lot like Holland. People make such a fuss about Italy, and you yourself get so wrapped up in the expectation of Italy, that it's easy to let yourself miss out on the beauty of Holland. For you, that boy is like Italy, and your girl is like Holland.
It may just take you some time, after the baby is born, to settle in and really enjoy her. And, you may always be a little bummed about not having that little boy you hoped for. You might want to mention it to your doctor, if you think it's going to make it difficult for you to give your baby the love and bonding she needs. You may want to see a counselor and get some of this stuff worked out. Or, you may want to wait and see. It helps to wear the baby in a sling, to build your own bond with her, if you're still having trouble after the birth. And this sounds materialistic, but try walking through the baby girls' section of a cute shop, and see if it doesn't perk you up some. You never know!
And honestly, if you go a few years and that dream of a boy is still alive and well... maybe consider adoption, especially older child adoption. There are many little boys out there, like my two, who desperately need a home where they will be loved and helped... even some who need a home where there are three older sisters to help guide and protect them!

I have sons and daughters. I was very close to my sons, but when they got married, they are different. Now your daughters are always theree. Be thankful you will have three girls that will always be ther for you. The bible says a son is your son until he takes a wife but your daughter is you daughter all your life. God has a special plan for you and your girls, enjoy it. I know that you are depressed now, but when they lay that little girl in your arms that will be forgotten. I have adopted children also, a boy and a girl, you can help another child have a good life it you feel you need a son. Con-grads on your baby.

I think if moms were honest, they have felt some similar feelings to what you are experiencing at this point in time. You had your heart set on having the little boy......so of course it is a disappointment when you find out that just isn't going to come to fruition. These feelings will pass as the pregnancy progresses. I have three kids myself and wanted my third to be a little girl. I felt some of the same things....disappointed, even a little depressed. However, you definitely have 3 little blessings and as I said, in time, you will appreciate it. HUGS.

I agree with Dee M. There are a lot of little boys out there looking for a loving family. Love the little guy like one of your own but don't be depressed about having a little girl. Don't let her know that you got depressed about having her just cuz she's a girl. Just be happy she's healthy and she's okay. Just remember it could be worse....my aunt had 7 daughters before she got her son. :-) adopting is easier lol

This is so sad. And people wonder why women are so under valued in society. You should be ashamed of yourself. :(
