I had 28 rads,,,and it burned a hole in me. Can anyone relate?

I burned, blistered and bled. It was horrible! Try asking for a product called Xeroform (although I recently saw it in our local pharmacy when it wasn't there before). It is a treated gauze strip and the relief was instant for me, and I seemed to heal faster. If I remember right, they use Xeroform for burn victims. It's worth asking about....

after 20+ treatments, I too burned badly. I blistered very badly that I was in pain all the time. I stopped the radiation treatments for 5 days to heal and applied massive amounts of ointments and then I was good to go again and finished the last 7 or so treatments with no problems. I had 33 treaments in all.

I only had 18 rads, but I was toasted like I fell asleep on the beach. Mine was in the chest/neck area and I had an unbelievable sore throat. But, no, I guess I didn't get enough to make a hole in me. Best wishes to you.

I had radiation for breast cancer.The treatment its self didn`t hurt but the after efect was really bad burn.They burned me close to the skin then deeper other day or so.When I got done I looked cooked,I even peeled on my back.Very bad burns across chest area.Used aquafor and another burn cream that was prscribed.

I had radiation burn like a sunburn and the skin started to crack and peel, they gave me "aquaphor" to keep the skin moist.

i had radiation to my head. it gave me a sunburn type burn. but nothing like you had. talk to another doc. thats not right

when i had radiation, it not only burned through to my back, but it damaged my esophagus so severly, i had to have a feeding tube for six months.
