I am looking for a good brand of canned cat food for my cat. I've read online to avoid cat food with meat by-products in them. Is there a good brand out there that won't break the bank?

I use canned cat food once or twice a week and dry food 7 days a week. It encourages your cat to drink more water keeping their urinary track clean. You want whole meats and less chemicals to promote good cat health. Science Diet is more expensive than most but it recommended by most vets and can you put a price tag on love

Generally, I dont consider anything from places like walmart if I want a good quality food. I buy my pet food at a feed store, and I buy Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul. Its got good ingredients, and my cats really like it.

You want to avoid too much ash content actually. I've found that Fancy Feast has a very low ash content. My kitties love the seafood in aspic version. It looks like fish gut jello, but they go crazy over it. And whatever you do, don't buy Iams. They test on animals. Any company that does that is a big fat zero in my book.

My cat liked Whiskas. My wife's cats both went nuts for nine lives. If you are concerned about the quality of the food you could talk to you vet. They will probably recommend that pricey vet stuff but if you tell them that you can't spend that much money, they will probably tell you which national brands would be better.

Natural Balance and Wellness both make excellent feline formulas in both canned and dry. The difference in the cost is the difference in the quality of the ingredients.

Friskies is the best. It's not one of the expensive ones and it doesn't give the cats diarrhea. Whatever you do, don't get 9 lives cat food!

Can food is not really that good for your cat. It's bad for their teeth and can cause diarrhea. Hard food id much better it helps with the plaque on the cats teeth and there breath.

Friskies!! my 6 month old male and my 2 yr. old female absolutly luvvvvvvv it. I've tried other brands of canned but my female jsut sticks her nose up at them! she prefers Friskies only! plus, all those other brands like Fancy Feast, Whiskas aren't big enough for both of my kitties to split! LOL!!!

DO NOT use 9 lives! my 6 month old ended up with the squirts when I gave it to him!! I don't know why but I automatically changed back and now he's fine!
