"09/03/06 Skyline to catch the glow of Mexico's independence
CHICAGO -- Several prominent downtown Chicago buildings will be bathed in red, white and green lights in September to celebrate Mexico's independence, community leaders announced Wednesday.
The effort, organized by the Mexican Consulate, Lt. Gov. Pat Quinn and radio host Javier Salas, will run from Sept. 12-17. The city plans to light several downtown bridges in Mexico's national colors.
At least 20 buildings and landmarks will participate, including Navy Pier, Sears Tower and the Wrigley Building, according to a spokeswoman for Quinn.
The "skyline tribute," as organizers call it, began last year to mark the Sept. 16 Mexican national holiday."

Alma, that is fair.
I have no problem with a party.
However, the Mexican CONSULATE has aranged this in Chicago, which makes me think they should plan something for us in return. Either we're all mutually supportive, or we aren't.

Excuse me? I'm glad they're doing that in Chicago, as a mexican living here in the US LEGALLY (with my green card and everything) I respect this country, but I also remember with love the country that I was born in, if you don't like it, don't watch it. as for myself, I'll celebrate that day, the same as I always celebrate the 4th of July. Your question that if I think that in Mexico they should do the same?, I hope so, because is a good thing, to respect and love the holidays of other countries especially if we're neighbors.

We've sent Billions in aid, assistance, tried to even send jobs,
taking away jobs here...So why should we expect Mexico to
honor our holidays, Cinco Day Miyo is a day I stay home for my own safety! Not to recognize and appreciate another society!
Not our fault their country is in the shape it's , So they need to have their own revolution within their own boarders, & establish
a Democracy like our forefathers did, then try everything in their power to earn our friendship! Not come here & steal from us!
