Becky, most of Israel's enemies do not believe that the state of Israel has any right to exist. They believe its inhabitants are squatters, occupying and living well on land that is not theirs.
They hate Israel, not only for its very existence, but also because every attempt they have made to destroy it has ended in utter failure. They blame Israel (and the US, which supports Israel's right to exist and defend itself) for their repeated humiliation.
Many of Israel's enemies are poorly educated, and the only education they may have received is from religious zealots, who believe, and teach them from childhood, that all non-Muslims should be converted or killed in the name of God. They view both Judaism and Christianity as "false" religions, whose followers are little better than non-believers.
I cannot tell you why they hate you or how they justify the murder of innocents while shouting the Takbir (Allahu Akbar! - "our god is the greatest!"). They simply do not share our belief in religious freedom and tolerance, and justify their (to us, evil) deeds in the name of God - the same God that you and I worship.
I honestly don't believe we'll ever see an end to this, as for it to end, either the enemies of civilization must embrace religious tolerance or the rest of us must be dead or converted to Islam - and I do not see either of those things happening in our lifetime.

Same place the Israeli army found justification in launching rockets at civilian Palestinian targets. In other words: probably not in any religious text, but rather in political responses to political situations. Why is there an assumption that there must be a theological underpinning to Islam to allow the killing of civilians? No other group ever needed one...
The Muslim world never "hated" Jews or Christians until Jews and Christians insisted on screwing around with sovereignty and internal politics in Muslim countries.

I understand your point, I'd say that there aren't any religious reasons, it's because Israel was created on a Muslim territory, they kinda got all Muslims out to put Jewish in (without wanting to insult Jewish). Muslims just didn't like it and started a war that never ended. When of of them attacks the other, I can be either for territory purpose, or for revenge because the other attacked him. It the kind of war that will never end since both sides can say that the other attacked the other, and for the fact that Muslims have strong beliefs that Israel stands on their ground. And for the fact that Israel killed civils with their rockets, well (for the war against Hizbolla this summer) it's because Hizbolla made their head quarters on civil buildings.

I would not repeat the popular sayings,"Look at the Israelis killing the civilians, in thousands, against the very few civilian Israelis killed" in comparison, because comparisons are odious. The suicide-bombing is your main theme. The religion does not have such a commandment. It is a non-religious act, in desperation. They have no other weapon to fight back an insult or humiliation to their family members, to their elected legislators, to their neighbour, except a home made bomb attached to their body. For them, the life is not worth living any longer, in humiliation. So, take a little revenge before dying. Again, I request you not to involve religion into it. It is an issue in Sociology, and, Psychology. I have my sympathies for all the victims, Israeli and nonIsraeli.

Their religion, Islam, is a justification for their desire to conquer and kill Jews, and STEAL what the Jews have built in Israel.

NO not civilians BUT military personnel.
Absolutely not. the conflict is ALL political and nothing more.
it's about history present and future. it's about their very existence and their heritage that's being threatened by Israel and the US and NOT because they are Jews or Christians.
in the Holy Quran God/Allah allows us to marry from the Jews and Christians and to eat their food.
"let be no compulsion ion religion" Quran.
the religion Hezbollah used to justify killing the Israelis is RETALIATION!!! and by the way every 18-60 years old Israeli citizen is a military personnel.
peace.

Islam denounces terrorism in all forms , the Qur'an says that if you kill one innocent man it is as if you killed all of mankind. 9/11 was committed by a horrible group of people who distorted Islam for their own desires. They were not true Muslims and did not follow the way of our prophet Mohammud, pbuh.
Hizbollah vs. Israel is more of a political thing, not religious. Land was taken from it's rightful owners and dispensed to isralis. people lost their livelyhood and lives. this occurred in 1948 as well as 1968 - that was in the lifetime of our parents and grandparents. Our parents suffered because of this. This isn't religion but retaliation , and I assure you that if someone stole my home that I have worked hard for and made me move from the place i was born to a horrible life in a strange land i would consider retaliation too, it's human nature.
Islam does not ask Muslims to fight against nonmuslims, but we do have the right to defend ourselves against aggressors.
