My daughter is ADHD, ODD and possibly bipolor, the only medication I have her on right now is Ritalin that she started as of today, she was on Adderall and it was causing GI problems, and she was sleeping alot. Well she took her first dose today and when she came home from school her tummy was hurting and she laid down and took a nap, I know nothing about ritalin except the horror stories that some have and success stories other have. So I really dont know what to do, but her teacher is at her wits end with her behavior as am I. She refuses to swallow capsuls and will only swallow pills.

Patience is a virtue. I have a Foster child and an adopted child with adhd and fetal alcohol syndrome. I hope these links help you. If she won't swallow the capsules open them up and pour it in a Glass of milk or sprinkle it on her toast and jam or something like that.

If your daughter has been diagnosed with all of this then you have a right to meet with the Principal and teacher to sit down and discuss a course of action that will work.
I recommend some professional counseling and behavior modification with a therapist, counselor who specializes in these types of behaviors.
Obviously the meds are not working and you need to try a different approach. There are other ways of dealing with this but it requires effort on everyones part.
There is no magic pill that alone will change her behavior.
You and the teacher need to be on the same page as they say.
A counselor will be able to direct you best.Ask you MD for a referral.

I'm a nurse, and this is so overrated. Making her behave is so important. Don't beat her, but make her know YOU are the parent, NOT her. Drugging kids like this never happened years ago. That's when parents had control of the kids. Just show her you are the boss, not her. Good luck ~~~

As for the behavior a nice paddle will do the trick, you dont punish your kids so they are punishing you. you are a weak parent

Give it more time. Like, a month. She may adjust.
