Yes, I used to be stationed there and there are a hundred cab companys to choose from go to local.com and type in taxi cabs and Jacksonville NC to find a cab. Just flash your military I.D to the gate sentry and you'll get in. And dont worry those cab drivers know the base better then most marines there so they'll definitely get you where you going. Keep in mind they charge out the wazoo.

Generally the local cab companies are able to get on post, if you have a military ID you can take a cab in, they will inspect the taxi, check your card, and wave you through. It's a simple process that varies from base to post to port to...you get the idea. Just ask the gate guard and he should direct you where you need to go.

Yes they can I live at Fort Drum in New York and it would be impossible for not only single soldiers in the barracks but for anyone without a car for that matter to get anywhere. As long as you have an ID anyone can come on base with you. When the cab gets to the gate they have to open thier trunk. Here at Fort Drum the base has a contract with thier own cab company but Yellow cab is here as well as people just starting out a cab service.

I think if you have a military id you should be fine with a cab. Some bases offer on base cabs you might want to check into that. When I went to visit my boyfriend the military transportation picked me up from the airport and dropped me off. You still have to pay of course.

They can at all gates here. Especially if the passenger has a military ID card. In fact, we have empty taxi's that sit outside the PX waiting for soldiers that need rides. You shouldn't have a problem. However, you should call taxi company to make sure they're allowed on post. You can also call the MP's or other service to see if taxi's are allowed on post.

Good luck!!

Yes. They will need to check into the Main security gate.Log in a time of arrival and tell the guard where you are being dropped off and an estimated length of time on base. Show your I.D. and then they also have to log out. Call the main security office before you go and see if they have a recommendation of Taxi service companies. You will need to know specifically where you are being droped. Good luck and have fun!

It completely depends on the base. We're stationed in Japan, and the individual drivers have to get permits to be allowed on base... like any other government paid civilian, most of them do. But then, on the housing bases, they can't come past the front gate.

Normally, a cab can take you right to your destination, however, with todays extra security, you should ask the cab company when you call, or even before the date, when it is needed.

At one time they could. Call the cab company and ask them. If they can't call the base and ask them how you can get from the gait to where your husband is coming in.
