Like what missionaries do. I am sure there are missionary wings in other religions as well.

No. And I would never give money to any organization that serves Jesus as a side dish to hungry people.

Mission work of today is much different then in the past. I believe that without missionary work, a lot of humanitarian work would not get done. Missionaries have taken a beating for bringing disease to Indians and mistreating indigenous people. It's true that they abused their positions and lorded over people and stamped out a lot of wonderful culture and tradition. I can not defend that. And yet, I believe that the gospel going out is important, perhaps that's not a PC point of view but it's how I feel.

I would support the missionaries if they weren't trying to convert people. So no, I do not support organized conversion. I find it offensive.

NO NO NO NO NO! I can't state that strongly enough. I am shocked and appalled when I think of the damage that missionaries have done. All those perfectly happy, naked natives, forced to take up the whole christian guilt thing. Jesus wept!

Absolutely not. How many cultures have been destroyed by religious takeovers? Why are religious zealots so bent on conversion? Are they working on commission? Or is like one of those pyramid schemes...when you reach the top-BAM-you get Raptured. Do they win a trip or a toaster or something?? Just leave people ALONE!

Conversion and proselytization? Absolutely not.
Religious organizations that establish hospitals and schools in under-resourced places? Absolutely.

I think it is perfectly fine to explain your beliefs to others in hopes of converting them but if you in any way force them or bribe them in someway then I dont think that is right.
