I personally think there's going to be an increase in atheism and a decrease in Christianity and all religions. As we discover more and more things about the world, old religions just can't keep their relevance. What keeps the numbers of Christians from dwindling is their raising their kids to be Christian. Kids love fairy tales and there are tons of them in the Bible. Hopefully this will be combated by teaching them evolution in school.

Haven't you heard? Bin Laden is going to convert all of us to the Islamic belief. Believe or die, I believe he said.

I disagree. I feel that the number of Christians will raise. There are answers that effect the world today that can be accepted by those of faith. I don't think "fairy tales" are what we think sacred scripture is, especially when historical events and records can be proven through other sources that Biblical events did occur. Evolution is taught in schools, and there are still just as many believers.

I hope the christian population decreases, but I don't think that it's gonna happen anytime soon. There will always be private christian schools who won't teach evolution and there will always be families who brainwash their kids into thinking there is some kind of all powerful being watching over us at all times.

It has been said that the Church is one generation removed from extinction. I think, however, you are off the mark. If recent trends are any indicator, the "mainline" moderate churches will decline in membership and the more reformed denominations will thrive. There is currently a great explosion in the Christian church in China and Africa, and reformed theology is making inroads into the inner cities in th US.

I would also have to disagree with your notion that the teaching of evolution will successfully "combat" the increases in church population. Firstly, the rise of homeschooling and Christian private schools. Many people are pulling their kids out of the poorly run, low scoring, crime and drug ridden public schools. They are, in spite of the obstacles in the way, choosing to send them to private schools or teach them themselves. Also, I think that science and Christianity are not mutually exclusive. I for one do believe in micro evolution. However, the theory of Darwinian macro evolution has not panned out as it should have. I think the jury is still out as to whether it ever will.

I honestly believe that with time people will come to realize that Islam and Judaism makes alot more sense than Christianity does----if they want a religion, and this is where they will go.

G-d is G-d. G-d is One.

As science and technology increase so will Christianity.

The sciences can only prove Christian teachings further. They way I see it is since we're nearing the end of time God is going to call people to Himself in droves. More than ever before.

In the meantime, the anti-Christ will rise to power and deceive many people too. even some of the elect. But all-in-all look for a definite increase in Christianity, it's already happening in smaller countries.

I think there will be twice as more, if you think about it gorgeous men and women end up getting married right. well they have a better chance of getting married and having kids. and their kids will grow up gorgeous and they have a greater chance of getting married and so on and so forth. our religion is based on the family, we will continue to teach and to have big families, our kids get married and they have their own families. I think atheism will dwindle and Christians will remain strong.

Atheism is growing significantly. You can never tell what might happen in the future. Hopefully all religions will decline in popularity as we become more aware of the world around us. I believe we will always have the nuts though.

Religion has long out-served any good it may have ever had. As more people become educated and are raised to think freely, religions will wither and die... unfortunately it will take a long time for this transformation to happen.

I would not know I have my own religion. if your interested in that email me. Christians are OK but they are a little misled. Jesus is not God he is a son of God. Jesus was not crucified he was brought up to heaven, and Simon of Cyrene was put in his place. Jesus did not come to start a new religion he came to show people the way to God.
