Dick Cheney's old company made a lot of money off of the war in Iraq.

I wouldn't be surprised if Texan oilers made a few millions too.

"Halliburton Corp., the second largest oil services company in world, is the poster child for corporate greed and terror. And it seems that nothing will stop Vice President Dick Cheney's old company from repeatedly breaking the law to save and earn mountains of cash."

"As the first bombs rain down on Baghdad, CorpWatch has learned that thousands of employees of Halliburton , Vice President Dick Cheney's former company, are working alongside US troops in Kuwait and Turkey under a package deal worth close to a billion dollars. According to US Army sources, they are building tent cities and providing logistical support for the war in Iraq in addition to other hot spots in the "war on terrorism.""

"Meanwhile Dick Cheney's 2001 financial disclosure statement, states that the Halliburton is paying him a "deferred compensation" of up to $1million a year following his resignation as chief executive in 2000. At the time Cheney opted not to receive his severance package in a lump sum, but instead to have it paid to him over five years, possibly for tax reasons."

"WASHINGTON, July 25 (HalliburtonWatch.org) -- Halliburton announced on Friday that its KBR division, responsible for carrying out Pentagon contracts, experienced a 284 percent increase in operating profits during the second quarter of this year."

" And now Halliburton's $13 billion contract with the Pentagon is being re-bid. There are not, however, very many companies that can do what Halliburton and its subsidiaries do, and which have a long association with the Pentagon and its various bureaucratic techniques, such that they know how to fit in with the Department of Defense bureaucracy.

What was in it for Cheney? I don't think it was a matter of money. At least I hope it wasn't. Cheney sold half his Halliburton stock options in 2000 for $5 million, and it is hard to imagine a man taking his country to war to increase the other half in value by a few million."

That good enough for you?

There is no way of knowing, Dead Eye Dick Cheney has made a bundle because he owned a lot of stock options in Halburton. The upheaval in the middle east has caused the price of oil to go up and hence the profits so my guess is that Bush being an oil man is making a buch also. I think if we could really find the truth we would find out how corrupt and criminal this administration is.

You are truly ignorant of how things work. If you have one shred of actual evidence that President Bush has gained financially from the war in Iraq, you should bring it out. Otherwise you need to shut up.

potentially, they're gaining unlimited amounts from the oil they're drilling in Iraq. A lot of the Iraq war has to do with Oil since it is determined that oil is depleting at an exponential rate.

The only thing gained in Iraq was the liberation of the Iraqi people and the gaining of their rights to live. To me, that makes it all worth it.
