In my limited understanding, Christians are believers in Christ. But remember the devil himself believes in Christ and he surely would not be considered a Christian. I believe that there are many "unsaved Christians" To join the YMCA-The Young Mens Christian Association, you do not have to profess knowing Christ as your Savior, so you see the name Christian does not necessarily indicate that you are a "born again" Christian. To be saved is to give your heart and life the Jesus Christ and have the born again experience. I was a Christian in name only, then one day I was saved.

Ah, this is an interesting question. You are right when you say some one might "act" like Christ, but many act holier than thou yet sin. As children of Christ, we MUST live a pure life as he did. The whole point is to have a relationship with him and reflect the truth of the gospel for the world to see. Hence being a light unto the world.
"Christian" means "little Christs". The Romans gave this name to the believers of Jesus, not saying that they were Christ himself, but those living a life like Him. HOWEVER since then the word "Christian" has been perverted by "religion". "Religious" people have become like the Pharisees, making rules and adding to the scriptures, new rules on what Christ would want us to become.
To be "saved" in my eyes, is to be humbled and submissive to the Lord, acknowledging Him who died for all sins, came back to life as the conquer of death, as a loving sacrifice. Those following Jesus fully choose to read God's word to us, pray daily, and seek to grow for His Glory!
Acting and actually being are two different things. We are not to say that we follow Christ but life for the world. That is the difference.

A Christian is someone who has repented and put their trust/faith in Jesus Christ to save them from their sins; understanding that all have sinned and fallen short of God's standard - the 10 commandments. Being saved essentially means that one has been "born again" (John 3:3) - being made new because of a spiritual transformation that repentance and faith brings. One must believe that Christ is the Son of God, and obey Him as Master and Lord. In doing so, and repenting from sin and turning to God, one is saved - and becomes a Christian. A Christian then lives a life based on the teaching of the Bible as God's Word and ultimate authority.

Saved means your fate is settled, you are covered by the blood. Being a Christian should be the same thing, it means you follow Christ. A lot of people can be very nice and not be saved. Being saved is trusting Him to save you, letting Him carry your sin, letting His blood cover your sin.

Being SAVED means that you get to SHOUT at people who have different beliefs than you about how you're RIGHT and call them ATHEISTS like that's a BAD WORD.
Being Christian can mean the same thing, but it can also mean that you're a nice person who believes that Jesus was a cool guy who had a direct line to the big dude.

What most who call themselves Christians do not understand is that He only saves Lovers// You can go to church every Sunday and think you are pleasing Him, but most do not Love. They critize and judge all the time/
He says "I want more then just a one day weekend-love"
I was saved out of hell. Still working these energies out. Now He is healing me and then He comes. Being a true believer takes a lot of work, 24/7 prayer often, it is not easy even though you are saved. Knowing you are saved will help in the battle to come. Not easy, not automatic, fight, pitbullfaith. We have to save Him in order for Him to save us as well. He is chained up in our hearts.
Many "Christians" may have thought that I was not a Christian, but He chose me. (there is a verse going like who is a believer?? he who is saved from ..., it is me TRUELY a believer) Think many Christians are in for a surprise. Hope you do not have to go through what I did.
Clean your hearts. Forgive sincerely, violet flame over every disharmonic event in your life, do not stop, pray on.
Yes He is like Houdinui and will come free (our conscience He is and we have to clear His name i s our name) but being saved is not a ladida easy thing.
Love

Being saved means that you accept Jesus into your heart as your Lord and Savior. Just because someone is good and lives a good life does not make them a christian nor does it mean that they're saved. Being saved means you get to go to heaven and be with God. You have to accept Jesus into your life to become saved, and THEN you are a christian.

Salvation is a divine initiative: only God saves us. No matter what we do or say or proclaim, we cannot save ourselves. Many Christians claim to be saved, but this is based on an error in thinking: by professing faith in Jesus, some think they can save themselves. They can't. Only God saves, and the way God saves is God's business, not ours.

- If a person is truely a Christian, then yes that person is saved.
- Being a Christian means being a follower of Christ Jesus and if a person is a follower of Jesus then they would have to be saved.
JOHN 14:6
6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
