I am in a state database in Illinois that only police have access to. This database has me listed as an associate of a family here in Chicago. I was never associated with these guys. How do I get rid of it?

I know about it because the police are pretty forth coming about it. It usually goes soemthing like this. "hey ******, you still running with the ------------ crew?" I never was! "Sure, well the system says differently. Ok, you can put the stuff back in your pockets and reattach the back seat of your car. We are going to go eat doughnuts now because we are not going to arrest you since e ulled you over for no reason at all."

So, basically you have illegally hacked into a police database ( and then posted that you've done so on-line) and discovered that, according to the PD in your area, you have mob ties. There is no way to get rid of it. First of all, in order to even attempt to get it fixed you'd have to tell them that you obtained access to these files that you are probably not supposed to be seeing and you'd be arrested for hacking into a state database. Second, there is no way to prove that you are not associated with someone, you can't prove a neagative. I'd keep that information in the back of your head, and try my hardest to stay out of trouble!

You probably can't. How can you prove that you don't know these people? Anyway, the more you argue with the police, the more suspicious you'll make them. Wait a minute....if only the police have access to this database then how do you know what's in it?

Hold on. One minute you're inferring the police are nothing more than donut eating idiots who have nothing better to do than harrass you because you have mob ties then you say you want to be a cop???? With any luck that designation will stay with you forever and keep you from getting a job in law enforcement. Start practicing this phrase for your new career. "You want fries with that?"

Are you a registered voter? If so, you may find that your local politician may be glad of an opportunity to correct an injustice in return for good publicity.
