Pretty much, because Jesus said he was the only way. You may not have to deny Him to become a buddist, but doing so makes you not a follower of Him.

Buddhism isn't a religion it's a philosophy. Buddha was a philosopher - a thinker, who contemplated on the way he lived his life and came to certain conclusions. He didn't perform miracles and there is no supernatural element to Buddhism.
There is, of course, in Christianity. There is no rule though that says you can't believe this or that. You can think whatever you want. Whether you believe Jesus is the son of God or a prophet or a charismatic man who has a huge following is up to you.
The example these good people and others set provides a thoughtful, considerate and caring way to lead your life. That's more important than anything really.

Buddhism is a life philosophy rather than a religion. Their belief is very tolerant of other religions, stating that there are many paths to enlightenment. A Buddist philosophy isn't incompatible with a Christian philosophy, but it may not necessarily be true vice versa.

The true teachings of Jesus are not found in either Buddist or Christian theology. The gates of eternity are truely narrow , but they are wide enough for all who would enter.

do Buddists believe Jesus died on the cross, and he rose again.
I don't think so. I would say Yes.
But why would you want to do that?

I would say, No. Aren't you free to believe any way that fits you? There should be no rules about believing. We are all different and that is what I love about humans.

"Believe nothing, not matter where you read it or who has said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and your own common sense."

The Buddha

In other words, it's up to you to decide what to believe on your path to enlightenment. Not everyone's path is the same.
