I had a clue when my friend tipped me off. She is a mutual friend and was keeping tabs on him. We had just gone a cruise, and there was nothing. I thought he would wait until our anniversary which was 5 months away! I pushed it out of my mind, and I didn't know that when he said that he wanted to make brownies one evening that he was really going to propose (our first date ended with making brownies in the basement of my dorm). I was shocked--it took me a couple of weeks to get down from the shock!
We had been dating for just over two years, and we never assume anything. We knew we were in love, but we never jumped the gun. He wanted me to have some independence before getting married. We were going to have a 2-year engagement, but my grandmothers illness and subsequent death move it up to one. Now we're getting married only a week before our 3rd anniversary!

We had talked about getting married and even went and looked at rings...but he always acted like it would be a while. We went one Sunday after church to look at rings. On the way over he asked me what my favorite holiday was. I wasn't thinking and said Christmas. Afterwards I figured that was when he would ask. To my surprise, he went and bought a ring the next day and proposed that night. I had no idea. He told me later he had planned to propose that weekend when we went to Atlanta for a romantic weekend...but he couldn't wait to get that ring on my finger!

I knew because a month after we started dating, he confessed his love for me and we went ring shopping. We found the engagement ring at the first jewelry store we went to and my now husband waited 3 months before proposing because he did it at a huge Christmas charity event in front of a large crowd of people. It completed took me by surprise!!! But I said yes :)

June 9th, 2001 I knew I was in love with him..I knew we were going to be together forever...We didn't hook up in any way untill Feb of this year and as soon as we did he started looking at rings...

Didn't know... three years of dating and hoping but never discussed it (it's not his personality to discuss it)... and then on our 3 yr anniversary he asked me! It was AMAZING and such a wonderful surprise. And a beautiful ring - he picked it out completely on his own :)

kinda sorta. He'd been dragging his feet, so around November, I told him if he didn't want to marry me, he didn't have to but that he'd need to step aside because he was blocking whoever was supposed to be in his spot. He proposed on Christmas Day.

6 years later Im still waiting for him to ask. I have a feeling that he wont though because he knows Im going to say NO. Its not that I dont want to get married .. I just dont want to do it now.. when I am older I think I will, untill then I dont see the need for it.
