Brilliant refers to the shape of the diamond - specifically Round Brilliant. The Brilliant cut has the best light return of any shape, so this means it will be (when cut with the proper dimensions, that is) very sparkly and eye-catching. Please, go to an AGS certified jeweler, not a mall store, or some online site, and sit down to take the time to get educated. It IS a very confusing process, and too many people are out there to screw you and take your money. Color and clarity are important, but the actual cutting of the stone is the most important of the 4 C's.

I just bought a diamond, and they didn't mention brilliance. You are looking at color (the less color, the better the diamond) and clarity (the less intrusions of other non-diamond minerals the better) and carat (weight).

The diamond I purchased is colorless, but does have some intrusions (it's natural). I will tell you not to go by carat weight alone. The more perfect diamonds are smaller than 1 carat. This diamond I purchased is a replacement for an engagement diamond I got 15 years ago. It is only .29 carats, but is it incredibly glittery and beautiful.

Brilliant is one of the most used cuts for diamonds.

The brilliant cut was introduced in the middle of the 17th century.

The modern round brilliant consists of 58 facets (or 57 if the culet is excluded); 33 on the crown (the top half above the middle or girdle of the stone) and 25 on the pavilion (the lower half below the girdle).

A brilliant diamond is a fancy way of saying a round cut diamond verses a princess cut or marques cut diamond. It has nothing to do with the 4 C's.

ok in the beginning it relatively is aspects no longer faucets (something that belongs contained in the sink) and 2nd to a poster a around dazzling has fifty 8 aspects no longer fifty seven aspects. a princess shrink has fifty seven aspects. to respond to your question, the explanation why GIA does not have any information on hobby cuts is that a keenness shrink is unique to a definite jewelry keep meaning that jewelry keep has the rights to that shrink and that shrink in basic terms. merely like the zales diamond it extremely is barely unique to their keep. the zales diamond additionally has extra aspects then the common around dazzling fifty 8 aspects. any diamond it extremely is changed as an occasion having extra aspects is merely no longer qualified via GIA. GIA is the utmost respected diamond certification worldwide and that they've a attractiveness to stand via. frequently diamonds that are changed for extra aspects would be graded via IGI (yet another respected diamond certification) and have a GEMEX checklist to them ( checklist that grades how a lot sparkle the diamond could have in easy) no longer saying that obtaining a diamond that has extra aspects is better then the widely used fifty seven or fifty 8, it definitley has it relatively is positives to them. i've got worked with changed diamonds that had one hundred forty five aspects and guy you could say the toddler sparkled like nobodies company. getting a diamond it extremely is changed with extra factor does mean extra sparkle yet that isn't mean a area if the colour or readability are undesirable. with that mentioned getting a diamond with extra aspects is nice merely as long as you %. a diamond that has a sturdy colour and readability to it. i'd in my view choose for a extra physically powerful readability over colour yet no longer a lot that your downgrading on colour. colour and readability to slot hand in hand so i'd look at your funds and notice the place that would lead you as much as now as choosing a diamond in carat length, changed cuts, colour, shrink, and readability. Edit: FYI, no longer all diamonds have a culet SO a around dazzling does have fifty 8 factor with a culet (extra factor) or and not employing a culet. :o) i've got worked long sufficient contained obtainable to be attentive to extra then the common individual thank you.
