Everyone has emotions. He has either been hurt badly enough in the past to stifle his emotions, which can only last for so long; or he is psychotic and needs help. People who cannot be hurt also can hurt others without remorse. Be very careful about just how close a relationship you have with the man.

I broke up with a man who insisted he could not be emotional tied. He came up with many excuses and even sabotaged our relationship. Althought he claimed not to have emotional tied to me many of his actions told me he was emotionally tied to me. I suspect he was protecting his heart from being hurt again and not realizing he was setting himself up again for rejection...from me. He believes this is the safest way he can protect himself and not feel hurt again. Actually, what he is doing is numbing himself so he will not experience pain. He has put a wall up and it will be hell to break it down. Until he deals with his own issues and learn to take the risk again to be love and love in return he will sabatoge each relationship he gets into. He is afriad to love and he will be very callous when you break so that he will not feel the pain of the break. This type of person is very afraid of rejection and will break it off with you before you get a chance to reject them. In the end, he can justify that the relationship would have never worked anyway and he has lost nothing and keeps his dignity. This is a very hard relationship to maintain because he is trying so hard to protect himself. Good luck to you if you decide to stay. He needs some counseling to get to the root of his disappointment and rejection to be able to open up fully and love again.

He has emotions he is just denying them.

Sometimes when a person has been though alot of "Heck" or has been hurt alot they tend to become hard-hearted or cold hearted. They have an immunity to feel emotional pain. How could a heart possibly be broken if it wasn't whole to start with? Hes probably telling you the truth about himself.

He was either hurt really bad at some point in his life and shut down or he's just always been a person who chooses to be dead inside. Either way its bad news. If he's someone your thinking about getting involved with, think again. The warning sign is right in front of your face.

He's being defensive because some time in his past he was probably hurt bably in some way, either by family or a girlfriend/wife. That's my best guest anyway. We all have emotions, just some of us hide them better than others.

Evidently that is his mask cause he has been hurt before and now he's trying to convince the others & himself that he doesnt have emotions cause he is too afraid to open his heart, it's like a preventive wall that he has build around him just to protect himself...
