Cheating can be either or, or both physical and mental, if your man isn't your best friend or you feel more comfortable talking to another man then yes that's a problem...whether or not it's cheating I guess it depends on what you're talking about but it's definitely an uncomfortable position......

Talking as cheating? No way! If you feel that talking to someone of the opposite sex is a form of cheating, then you might as well just lock your significant other in a basement, remove all forms of communication, and then patiently wait until he goes insane from a lack of social interaction.

First, cheating is overrated. One can love many people, and of the opposite sex, simultaneously. But only one counts. That said, no, one shouldn't go to bed with others if they care. Cheating is a giving of your deepest love to another...physically, spiritually, emotionally...before you've broken up with the other. It's unfair. But human. I don't think this kind of deep love comes with extras. You love her/him with all your heart, or you don't.

Men know that other men who want to be "friends" with a woman usually also want to sleep with her. We know this because it is true for us also. Men find it to be an insult to us when our girlfriends or wives spend lots of time with guys who they SHOULD KNOW want to sleep with them.
It's not cheating, just a mild disrespect. Men and women are different, a woman may not feel the same way if the roles were reversed. There are many women who are friends with married men who have no desire to sleep with them at all, but when men get all "best friendsy" with women they USUALLY want to sleep with the woman and have for a long time, even if they themselves are married.
Here's a good rule of thumb.
Don't be with or go out alone with one of these "best friends" guys, except if you have to for work. If you are out with a group of people, don't "pair up" with the guy, (e.g. ride shotgun in his car, sit next to him in the movies, etc...) Don't tell him things your husband/bf would not tell him. Don't chat with him socially on the phone unless your husband/bf is in the room. Consider him a rival of your husband/bf and remember who's side you're on.
You'll also be doing your friend's wife or girlfriend a favor indrectly!

it would not be cheating maybe hard for someone to get over because people get jealous easy but no it is not cheating. other wise that same person would consider you a lesbian or gay for talking the same way with someone of the same sex.

I doubt that it is technically cheating. Honestly, it would bother me though. I'm married, and I feel that I should be my wife's best male friend. If she's having a relationship that she can't have with me, then I'd have a problem with it.

You're cheating when you do something you wouldn't want your partner to catch you doing.
