Hi, your friendly insurance guy here! :)

The original poster was correct in that there is no specific answer to be given. The markup will vary based on carrier, the amount by which you are overweight, and other factors in your medical tests and underwriting. In general there are bands on a weight chart that each insurer uses:

A "normal" band, some number of successively higher risk bands, and eventually an automatic decline band.

Combined with other factors it can make the cost of insurance anywhere up to several times as expensive as the standard risk rate, or even cause the applicant to be declined. I'd consider speaking with an independent insurance agent that works with several carriers to find out which ones in your area may have the most favorable underwriting for your particular health concerns. It still will not be cheap, but you may be able to increase your chance of successfully being underwritten and having a policy issued.

Completely depends on underwriting guidelines of each and every insuror in country.

Can not ask such broad questions.
