Your gahl bladder acts like a striner for your liver. In some cases people have to get there's removed. So, is it harder for people to loose weight? Does that fat go directly to your liver?

The gallbladder isn't a "strainer" for the liver. It stores bile which-in a healthy gb-is pushed out from the gb into the intestines to help break down fat molecules in your diet. I dont really think it would hinder weight loss if removed however. it does not collect fat. If you have too much cholesterol in your blood from your diet ,the liver cant metabolize as much and you get a "fatty liver".Check with you doctor regardless. If you're having pain from the gb,dont hesitate to have it removed because you think you might gain weight.

Your gall bladder is not a strainer (not even a striner). It stores the bile that helps your body to digest fat. Without it you might not be able to digest fat as completely because you might not have enough bile available at any particular time. Actually that means fat will come out of your body as undigested and you will be more likely to lose weight (but more likely to have greasy stools leaking out of you!)

I had my gallbladder removed and it wasn't any more difficult to lose weight after the surgery than it was before. It was always difficult... I'm not sure what the purpose of the gall bladder is...something to do with bile...I think that's why I've had more heartburn since the surgery.

Sure. I had my gall bladder taken out over 2 years ago and I have lost 60lbs without even trying. I just assumed a new diet and wasnt even trying to lose weight. It just came off.

This might be a question for a doctor...since none of them hang out here, I would suggest asking one of them when you see them to get your Gall Bladder out, that doesn't strain fat...
Gad...
