The two things that I needed for immediate relief were Zycam and Tylenol Complete Allergy and Sinus to decongest, but stop my nose from running. These were suggested by many, but Kill_yr_television has to be given the best answer based on quantity and quality of answer. I will print your remedy and keep it at home to share with my family. THanks

Avoid meats, eggs, dairy, and processed foods like bread. If you can eat fresh raw fruits and veggies only, go for it! Or supplement with with a whole grains and legumes, like rice, millet, barley, beans, and garbanzos.

Drink lots and lots and water. Not soda, not juice, not coffee -- pure water.

Sauna as much as you can stand it. If you have no sauna, then soak in a hot bathtub. Drink ice water and keep ice packs on your head and neck to enable you stand that hot water for a long time. Try to take a long hot soak every 2 hours or so; you may need to "crank up" the temp on your hot water heater to make enough hot water to allow this.

The reason this works is twofold. First, viruses and bacteria are tough and hardy in some ways, but fragile and easy to kill in others. If you can raise your internal body temperature by only a few degrees, those little creeps are dying by the zillions. Since the goal it to INCREASE body temp, don't be taking aspirin, tylenol, or other 'fever' reducing medications. A 'fever' is the body's natural way of creating that increased internal body temp. (Of course, if the fever is VERY high ... like 102 or over ... you should take tylenol and see a doctor -- skip the hot baths.)

Second, by stimulating and helping the best antibiotic treatment in the world -- your body's own natural immunity. The heat of the sauna or bath makes your blood vessels open up, your heart beat faster -- in short, makes your blood flow harder and faster. This moves the disease fighting cells in your blood around the body faster and removes the wastes and toxins faster too! The switch from cool surroundings to hot and then back to cold makes the vessels expand and contract, which has the effect of loosening 'gunk' from the inside surface of the blood vessels, letting the body get rid of it and further increasing blood flow.

Eating a light, raw diet diverts less blood to your digestive system, so there is more blood flow in the rest of your body ... again, greater blood flow helps your immune system work better.

Eating large amounts of garlic can thin the blood a bit and help it flow even better. A small to moderate amount of alcohol (drinking, not rubbing) can do the same, as well as help you rest quietly.

Last of all, stay home. Let your body use its energy to fight this cold, not slave away for the boss. You don't want to share your cold with your co-workers either.

Have a glass of orange juice by your side all day and make sure to take sips of it every once in awhile, keep a box of tissues with you, of course. Make sure you are dressed in comfortable warm clothing. Tonight, make sure to get at least 9-10 hours of sleep tonight. Lots of rest and fluids will help your cold go away faster. Oh yeah, and try not to do too many stressful activities or ones that require lots of exercise. When you have a cold, the best thing to do is rest and relax, and take it slow.

Get Well Soon! :-)

Drink lots of orange juice, blow your nose often, and wet some kleenex and put up your nose. Breath in and out using your nose and mouth. After about 5 minutes take them out, put fresh ones in and repeat. When done make sure nose is blown well and dry. After this procedure, your nose should be less runny and clogged up.

When you have a cold, also consult your doctor (might be more than a cold) and take cold medicine.

There is a product called Zicam (if you're in the US) it's a zinc ointment. If you use it as soon as you feel that "getting a cold" feeling it will stop the cold dead in its tracks. If you use it after the cold has hit it will help shorten it.

I know it sounds impossible, but I've been cold free for two years now.

You can buy it over the counter in grocery and drug stores. Good Luck.

This will sound gross but is the best way to get over a cold fast. Get a tiny clove of garlic. Chop it up finely. Get a glass of juice or water and swallow it like taking a tablet. Dont chew on it , just swallow. You will be cured fast as your blood will become very clean.

take what ever you can over the counter for the symptoms, but do remember to drink water, a bunch, all the time, extra when your sick to help flush out the germs and if your mucus/snot is running a muck, avoid dairy, will just make things worse. hope this helps, and go to bed

I've always had good sleep with thera-flu and sleep, but I had an ex-girlfriend who had an interesting cold remedy: chicken soup and a hand job. Always made me feel better.
