You should also do some sort of exercise like walking or jogging. Protein works best when your body is heated. I eat fat free cottage cheese and chicken breast alot, before and sometimes after I go to the gym. It does help immensely at helping build and repair muscle and burn fat. I honestly dont know too much about "meal bars". |I do know that fatfree cottage cheese has 13g of protein in one cup, which is a good amount. Another good way to lose weight along with protein is drink GREEN TEA. It naturally kicks up your metabolism and detoxs your body which is essential for a healthy strong body.=0)Good luck!

Here is the formula for weight loss
Calories out > Calories in = weight loss
Doesn't matter where the calories come from.
Protien is important if you are using up calories building muscle mass. So indirectly, if you are "calorie outing" by muscle building, it might be a good idea to ingest some extra protein "calorie in'ing" But simply eating more protein regardless of the calories won't cause weight loss by itself.

If you eat 1000 calories of protein instead of 1000 calories it doesn't matter. Protein is important when you are trying to build lean body mass. Building lean body mass is a great way to lose weight, although I think that you are really meaning losing size, am I correct? If all you do is cardiovascular activities to lose weight you may lose some fat but you may still be flabby. If you do weight training in conjunction with cardiovascular, you will gain lean body mass which speeds up fat loss. Remember, what the scale says isn't always goal #1. Muscle weighs more than fat...so someone who is 150 lbs and weight trains may actually be smaller than someone who is 130 and doesn't.

weight help is desperate via energy. era. Protein shakes are energy, so in case you drink ten protein shakes an afternoon, you are going to positioned on weight. yet once you replace a 500 calorie meal with a a hundred and eighty calorie protein shake, then you definately would desire to finally end up dropping weight at last. merely ensure you're getting each and all of the supplementations you decide on.

It's the "easy" answer to eat protein and fill yourself up with that - rather than carbs.... Like others have said, it's expending more total calories than you consume that helps you loose weight.
The problem is that high protein can be hard on your body (ex. kidneys) if that's all you eat. You need to eat - yes - the well balanced diet. Carb's are good... it's choosing the right carbs. Also, it's carbohydrates that give you energy!! So choose good carbs!

Calories are calories. To lose weight you must burn off more than you take in. Protien and carbs are 4 calories per gram. Fat nine.
Diet and exercise are like the two parts of a scissor. They work together.

I used to have really bad cravings for sweets. I found that upping my protien intake really cut down on my cravings.
I feel like it keeps me fuller longer.
I try to eat my fruits/ veggies first, then my protien with just a little serving of carbs.
Like 1/2 the plate with salad or steamed broccoli 6-8 oz of broiled chicken and 3/4 cup of pilaf or boxed potatoes.
For breakfast I try a higher fiber cereal like frosted shedded mini wheat with 1% ( I used to do non-fat but my honey demands 1%.) And I think I have found even that little bit of fat in the milk helps make the whole mean "stick" a little longer.
Then lunch I usually do a weight watchers "smart ones" plus a fat free yogurt (extra protein). And maybe a peice of fruit or veg.
I do use the slim fast bars to sub for breakfast sometimes, or dinner if I am on the go and won't be able to eat. I think the oatmeal and the cookie dough are pretty good. They stick with you and keep you going. I do like that they have the protien and the fiber. Plus they don't taste too mineral-ish.

I'm not very sure about that-but I saw on the news where if you have a high protein diet that you will keep more muscle and lose mostly fat when you're working out and dieting...don't know if this helps.
