MP3 is data, so yes

It should play the MP3's from a data disc. If it is an audio disc they aren't really MP3's. I burn data discs for my CD player and get close to 150 tracks on a CD.

MP3's ARE data. So yes.
____________
walkerhound03 is wrong.

Songs written to a CD are NOT wav files. Wav files are just that, FILES like data but a different format than MP3's (much larger).

Songs witten to a CD are in their most basic format, digital 1's and 0's audio streams (or .CDA extensions on a computer).

___________
lots_of_pie is only half wrong.

ANY blank disc will take MP3's as they are DATA.

onceuponatime is also wrong.

It doesn't matter blank DATA or blank AUDIO CD's as ALL CD's are made of the same material. It's all a big scam to make you buy music CD's at a higher price.

Yes mp3's are considered data. Usually if you write a cd as a music the software converts all the songs to wav files. Wav files are what regular cd players read.
