Hi, the best way to master this technique of verbal communication is to simply write the alphabet down phonetically; then exercise the alphabet at every opportunity. One method is to take the list of phonetic icons with you every where you go, then as you are waiting anywhere just look at car number plates, then think of the phonetic character and say it quietly to yourself. You will be able to check your answers yourself. Just start doing the practise daily and it will get second nature.

Try just learning a batch of no more than 5 letters at a time.
Repeat the batch over the day, and for sure it is going to stick in your mind. Next day learn 5 more and when you have them in mind, repeat both batches over the day.
When you have managed them all, repeat the phonetics every time you see a car number plate or a name sign. It very quickly becomes automatic.

Its dead easy just keep reading it through I learnt it quite quickly Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, Delta, Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliet, Kilo, Lima, Mike, November, Oscar, Papa, Quebec, Romeo, Sierra, Tango, Uniform, Victor, Whiskey, X-Ray, Yankee, Zulu ta da!! Am sure you have that info already but just keep reading it through and testing yourself and you will learn it dead quick!!!

ask someone to help you by getting you to spell 'the quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog' it shouldn't take more than a couple of times and you will have it.
