Sinning is when you are willingly going against gods will. it's like the laws, if there was no laws then you would not be disobeying them. but if you do know the laws and still go against them, you might end up in a car wreck or a ticket for not obeying them. you cannot be punished for something you did not do. with men it's possible but with God, he knows everything, and he knows your heart.

A sin is any thought or action that falls short of God's will. God is perfect, and anything we do that falls short of His perfection is sin.

The Bible actually uses a number of examples or "word pictures" to illustrate what this means. For example, it tells us that sin is like an archer who misses the target. He draws back his bow and sends the arrow on its way—but instead of hitting the bull's-eye, it veers off course and misses the mark. The arrow may only miss it a little bit or it may miss it a great deal—but the result is the same: The arrow doesn't land where it is supposed to.

The same is true of sin. God's will is like the center of that target—and when we sin, we fall short of His will or miss the mark. And this is something we do every day; as the Bible says, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23). Even when we aren't aware of it, we commit sin by the things we do (or fail to do), or by the way we think.

This is why we need Christ, for only He can forgive us all our sins, and only He can help us live the way we should. We can't forgive ourselves, nor can we change our hearts and make ourselves better in God's eyes. But when we know Christ, He takes away our sins and comes to live within us by His Spirit. Does He live today in your heart?

Sin is an ancient word which is now in todays society not very PC. But really it denotes missing the mark, falling short of perfection.
As we lost perfection through adamic sin in the garden of Eden, we all became inheritors of sin and thus started to die, as Adam and Eve were originally immortal.

Romans5:12 That is why, just as through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.

Through the ransom sacrific, Jesus gave us a way out of adamic sin to be able to gain repentance and a good standing before God.
We all sin as we are not perfect, but willful sinning is a different matter altogether as we do have a choice with that.

It also says Sin is the Transgression of the Law. The statement "to him that knowth to do good and doeth it not" leaves it wide open. What You may consider "good", I may not. The word "Sin" means to "miss the mark".

And if one only needs the Holy Spirit's leading, you wouldn't need a book to tell you what Sin is.

Original sin is the Fall of Adam as the "original" sin and the hereditary fallen nature and moral corruption that is passed down from Adam to his descendents. It is called "original" in that Adam, the first man, is the one who sinned and thus caused sin to enter the world. Even though Eve is the one who sinned first, because Adam is the Federal Head (representative of mankind), his fall included or represented all of humanity. Therefore, some hold that original sin includes the falling of all humanity. Some see original sin as Adam's fallen nature is passed to his descendents. "Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned," (Rom. 5:12).
Original sin is not a physical corruption, but a moral and spiritual corruption. It could be compared to the Reformed Doctrine of Total Depravity which states that sin has touched all parts of what a person is: heart, mind, soul, will, thoughts, desires, etc.
There has been much debate over the nature of the sin of Adam and how it effected mankind. Pelagius taught that Adam's sin influenced the human race only as a bad example and that all people are born in the same state as Adam was before his fall. Augustine taught that men inherit natural corruption from Adam.
At the return of Christ and the resurrection of all Christians, the sin nature will be done away with.

The answer I was always given when I was a christian is that sin is rebelling or turning one's back on god. So, for instance, while killing is generally a sin, Abraham killing his son (nearly) isn't one because god told him to. A lot of specific sins ended up being generated because the main answer is pretty vague, but that's the general idea most popular among theologians.

a million. Is marrying exterior of ones religon a sin in accordance to the Holy Bible? *** To sin by ability of definition is to disobey God, to act in opposite of God's will.. that's greater advantageous than merely disobeying the ten Commandments. *** Now, God strongly advises us to do not make un the two yokes with unbvelivers and that's at as quickly as on the subject rely of marriage (yet not unavoidably constrained in hassle-free terms to marriage). *** We have been given examples interior the Bible, like King Solomon to point one, the place marriage to a non believer lady (or many contained related to Solomon), finally took Solomon out of the religion in God, falling into even worship the idols his better halves / concubines had. Calling sin or to not brush off a solid propose from God, supported by ability of examples of outcomes of that undesirable determination? i might say particular. whether you do not think of that's a sin, that's incorrect to think of you has a greater valuable thought than God on a significant desicion of lifelike to whom you marry. 2. Is marriage between a protestant and a catholic exterior of ones religon? My answer: particular that's. In lots of the circumstances I unquestionably have considered, it brings the comparable conflicts than marriage between a believer and a non believer.

A sin is an action or thought which displeases God. We are sinning all the time, although we are not aware of it, the worst sins are the ones which we know they displease God, but we do them anyway. The more we know about God, the more we know of our sins, which are really just actions or toughts which are selfish and egoistic and do not take part in Gods plan to create a perfect beautiful future for human kind.

print out a times new roman font word called "SIN"
and see the "S" has a little \ at the top end of the "S" and note that hides a il in the \ also N=IV stitched together.

thus SIN according to the Gospel of TODD is:

a times new roman SIN=Sil I IV

which is what Iamisabaddon did to his arm. So it was My SIN? Why? Because I am an orphan (see Ex. 22.22) as biblical answer to what SIN is.

also little less then 100 years ago it was a SIN to hurt anything German. (see european law under NAZI's)

So personally I sinned against an orphan and a German.
So thus sinned against the church and state.
But i was so good looking i got away with it.
I pray you don't.

Eating with a fork was once a very serious sin in the Roman Catholic Church. Wearing a beard was a Christian sin in many frontier towns. The good Christians hung folks for that. Eating chocolate was once a BIG sin among Christians.
