I've had one for about six months now, and it's taking some getting used to. It seems like it retains heat longer when you turn the burner down.
I have yet to cook rice without boiling it over, as I can't ever catch the right point to turn it down! Very frustrating. Prefer gas.

It doesn't take that much longer to heat up. I prefer gas, but not an option where I'm at. I absolutely hated the coils, could never clean them good-(actually I was just lazy) because I couldn't put them back. The ceramic top is nice, but you have to make sure you clean the spills up good. My lovely kids have spilled stuff, not cleaned it, and used the stove and it burned rings on the burners. I'm having a hard time cleaning it off, even with the special cleaner. But, I'd still go with the ceramic top.

We've been using one for about three months now. I love it.
I think the new stoves keep more accurate temperature.
First....really easy to clean compared to coil or gas burners.
Once you get used to it, and it did take some getting used to, they are so good.
For instance....you KNOW when the heat is on because the red burner underneath is either on or off.
I think it heats up faster....when turned on HI, that red burner comes on and just bakes the sh** out of the cooking surface.
And the oven seems very accurate. I think there is a little computer control chip that keeps these on almost perfect temperature.
Best part overall....easier to clean.

It heats up faster and is easier to clean. There isn't a bunch of crap that gets down underneath the coils or anything like that. You can simply wipe it down with a wet rag and it's clean. Also it (at least mine does) has red lights that come on to let you know when it's okay to touch after using it.

It stays hot longer after it is turned off. It is easier to keep clean, you just scrap it with a razor scraper and wipe. Every so often use the cleaner and buff.
Otherwise it is just like any other stove.

i have had mine for three years now.
my glass top heats up instantly and takes forever to cool down.
it takes some getting use to and you have to be careful what kind of pots and pans you use. they say don't ever use iron skillets on it.
get the cleaner for glass tops and it will stay looking brand new .
it was in my house when we bought it and if i had a choice i would choose gas.

convinced! CermaBright! I cursed my range familiar till i purchased those products! it truly works great. basically enable it sit down on the stain for 5 minutes them take a humid washcloth and wipe off! do not use a razor blade in spite of the reality that, it may scratch your range! you'll discover it at your community equipment broking.

Takes a little "getting used to" - but I really like mine because it is so easy to keep clean.
