It's normal for them to go off their food when they move into a new place. If it keeps up for more than 2 weeks I would start being concerned.

No concern honey! She is just getting adjusted, it's stressful for a cat to change environments. Her appetite will pick up in a few more days and she will start eating. She's got alot to do, now that she has a new home and family to check out.

Your a good Momma already! Good luck!

He gets a half a cup of what a day? Water, milk, cat food, kitten food. You just got this cat and you and your world are new to this cat.

Have things for kitty to play with and pet kitty and talk to kitty, make kitty feel right at home and then he will begin to feel at home.

You should find out the kind of food he was eating before you took him in.

hmm...sounds like your kitty is still scared, especially if you adopted a stray or feral cat, as they take a long, long time to adjust....i would try to give kitty some yummier foods along with the food you are already giving it, like some wet foods, possibly the meat smell might make it want to eat...also kitties do not like their food anywhere near the litter box....keep the food and water seperate and away from the litter box, preferably in a private area where the kitty won't feel threatened eating if it is scared..if these things don't help, then i would go to the vet and see whats going on...hope this helps..and good luck with your sweet lil kitty

The cat is just adjusting to it's new home. Try to feed it the same food that it was given by the person you got it from, this may help.
He will settle in then eat you out of house and home :-))

If it is a kitten then this is bad news. The lack of appetite spells the beginning of it's demise. It is condition common among shelter cats where the abdomin becomes inflamed and is excrutiatingly painful for the kitten to eat. You will notice the kitten get thin and weak. One day you'll come home and the kitten will be stiff as a bored. I suggest..dig a small hole in the backyard and prepare for the inevitable...wait a few months..then get a new kitten.

Cats can be very nervous about new surroundings, and they can be extremely picky about food. Try buying a different food and see if he's more interested in that. Make sure he has a safe, quiet place to hide until he gets used to his new surroundings.

Sounds like your cat is just nervous. If you're feeding him the same food he's used to, he probably just isn't comfortable enough to eat. Barring any other odd behavior or symptoms, he just needs time to adjust.

Not unless it's been going on for more then a week or so. You just got him; he's scared. Heck, most of our cats were that way
