Fair has nothing to do with it, and that shouldn't be your attitude, anyway. Tithing is part of our stewardship. Like witnessing, or praying for others. Take care.

Non-Christians pay their taxes to the government and that is actually a tithe by itself. The taxes go to a lot of government projects and people's pension plan. The government bring the criminals to justice either by rehabilitation or life's cessation.
Christians give Tithe to the church and pay taxes to the government. The government use the Christian's money for the same purpose as non-christian's money, the church use the Christian's tithe for some charitable works, for building houses of worships, for helping some souls find the righteousness within themselves. The church bring the criminals to confession box and teach them to repent or prepare their soul for the final departure. So, you can look for those as fair.

What?
Christians tithe to support their church body, missions, outreach, etc.
Non-Christians don't tithe because they don't have a church body, missions, outreach or anything like that to support as a part of the body of Christ.
Everyone can make donations to non-profit organizations though.
Fair has nothing to do with this contrast between Christian and Non-Christian.
If you have a problem, as a Christian, with tithing you better start praying that your attitude gets straightened out and the Spirit reveals to you the importance of tithing.

It doesn't seem fair, but Christians understand the meaning of tithing and God only ask for 10%. No matter what it is, as long as it comes from the heart.

God owns everything and Christians only give back a portion or what is already His. Non-Christians tithe but they just don't realize it. When the car breaks down, they pay to get it fixed. The Christian repairman tithes. So, God makes non-Christians tithe, like it or not.

That is a "readers Digest" explanation but you get the idea.

It has nothing to do with fairness. Many Christians believe that as a Christian, tithing is a form of offering to God. Its pointless for a non-christian to do so. No one said life would be fair.

Do you understand what tithe means? It means to give a percentage of your money to the church of your choice, to further their work and ministry. If someone isn't a Christian, why would they tithe to your church? Perhaps they chose to be charitable in other ways, to other organizations. Health issues, disaster relief, environmental issues, hunger relief, these are all good ways of positively contributing to the human need. So, perhaps all who give do deserve those blessings.

I thought Christians chose to tithe. I didn't think it was a requirement.

Who said non-Christians don't have to tithe? Of course, they do. They just don't, like they don't do a lot of the other things they are suppose to do.

A Christians, we know that when we "give, it will be given back to us, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over." We get to live in abundance in this life, while they struggle with their finances.

It's not that Christians HAVE to or must tithe, it is that they choose to tithe.
