Do you think it's ok to buy a almost three year old girl the little dress shoes and dresses, the ones you get to play dress up in. Not the real stuff but like plastic little dress up shoes? I am uncertain I am not sure if it would be sending her the right message at this young of an age but I see little girls younger than my daughter wearing these dress up clothes. I know she is my daughter and for now I choose what she wears but I just want to know others opinion on this.

My daughter had that stuff. She 's well adjusted and well rounded. meaning she could play football with the boys or play dolls with the girls. Teaching morals and values is the most important thing you will teach your child!!!

Yes, I agree, you should let her dress the way you find approriate... I cannot tell you how to raise your child, you do a great job on your own. I have a thing about letting my child play with toy guns... I don't want her to pick up a real one thinking it is a toy and cause damage to either herself or someone else.

I can tell you from experience with a little girl, that I would buy her the stuff, but keep it put up, until I had time to dress her in it and take pics. Dress up makes for some of the cutest pics ever, and even the little girl involved feels very special in "dressy" clothes, like mommy. The way my daughter "prances" around in her little dress up clothes is a priceless memory for me.

Hugs to you, and you do what you feel is right!

Yes, I have a 4 year old and she has been wearing dress up clothes since she was 2. It is just fun for and lets her imagination run free. It doesn't send any wrong messages, girls love to dress up early and late in life.

Little girls love to play dress-up and pretend to be princesses, etc. It's healthy, and feeds their imagination and creativity.

If you don't want to buy the plastic ones, sometimes you can ask grandma to pass along old shoes, hats, etc. when she cleans out her closet.

My 2 older girls have Snow White, Cinderella, and old ballet dresses that they play with. My mom fixed up the old ballet dresses, and one of them turned out to be not as modest as I would prefer (OK, it was too big and came down to her belly at the top!) Simple solution: She always wears a shirt under it. Problem solved.

My opinion is as long the shoes and the dresses fit her there is no harm in her wearing this.even the plastic shoes are not the correct support for her little feet and she should not wear them all day. when she goes outside she should wear tennis shoes or sandals which support the feet better. You don't want her to break her legs when she is trying to run in this plastic shoes, right?

I think it is fine, my god daughter who is three plays dress up all of the time. At the age that she, she is learning the difference between male and female, by her wanting to play with the plastic stuff, it will only help her learning process.

You're overreacting. She needs things like that to stimulate her mind and imagination. Buying those dress up clothes won't send her a bad message.

It's okay especially if the two of you go out for tea. There is nothing like going out in your dressy clothes for little girls.

Have fun with it while she still wants to dress like this.

And take plenty of pictures.

i think you should. i dont think there is nothing wrong with your little girl wanting to play dress up if you dont she will find your shoes and clothes and try them on anyways. i kinda think it help them shape who they are and how unique they are. they expres them self that way. even though they are young.
