IF you use a box haircolor it will not turn out like you think.
THe black will take on the lighter hair but will fade to a color that you will not like.

You need to either let the blonde highlights grow out OR go to a professional salon and get them filled first. Since your hair was highlighted they probably used bleach which changes the composition of the hair shaft, therefore making any color you put on top of it fade very quickly and take on a new color.

LIke before your hair will pull grenn-blue in those areas with the highlights. The worst hing to do is box color your hair and then try to go to a professional to "fix it" we hate that!

Go to a professional! thats what we are here for!

Well...as a hair stylist I would not reccommend you color your hair at home, you would be better off going to a salon, but I do understand you are on a tight budget. The only concern I have for you is that it may turn a green color again. In the blonde areas it is going to suck up the color the quickest becasue it is the most damaged and porus. I would recommened if you are doing it yourself to try to put it on the regrowth and browner areas first then maybe the last 5-10 min put it on the blonde areas. That way it may be a more even color and may not turn green. I am not saying this will work 110%, I have never used box color so I have no idea how that kind of color works, but it is worth a try. Good luck to you whatever you try.

Yes you can dye your uneven hair to jet black. However make sure you use a permanent haircolor. Since you're doing it yourself, you may want to use a box kit (for example Clairol or Dark and Lovely - available at Sally's Beauty Supply). The directions are easy to follow and you apply it to your hair dry.

Be sure not to purchase a semi permanent hair color. This will sometimes give you and greenish color.

Hope this helps.

The reason your hair turned green before is because you need to use a red filler on the blonde part. You can get fillers at a beauty supply. Some times an orange filler works better because red turns out pink. Please ask a professional for a second opinion before ever putting anything on your hair. Good luck.

I had the exact same problem. Use that new Natural Color Match, the one that Penelope Cruz advertizes. I used the brown/black and it completly covered my highlights and gave me a soft black shade with tiny hints of soft golden brown highlights. Its the best thing i have ever used and for the price, you cant go wrong!

I don't know what kind of a friend she is, however you are the one one in charge for the colour of your hair. You rather need to see a legitimate to get this fixed and with the intention to fee you a bunch greater than the 3 bucks spent to this point. Higher that than some house remedy that would make it worse or even cause you to lose your hair or permanently injury your scalp.

i would go to a salon so if it gets messed up or turns green it wont be your fault! they should put this chem. on it before they dye it (usually turns hair red first and allows for even color) then they apply the color after the chem is rinsed out... trust me go to a salon! its better to pay more for someone else to do it than to keep paying money out to fix your own mistakes! and it looks better!
