I know that I should just let it slide since the only person I can control is myself, but I just get so angry. No one listens to my ideas on how to improve things and they can't stand to be criticized even though they don't do there job well becaue they are lazy. All they want to do is come to work and set on their behinds for 8 hours and pick up their pay check at the end of the week, while I'm trying to actually accomplish something. It's not a situation I can walk out of either so that's not really an option.

I found myself, In the same situation, And like you I thought it was me. But I held on , And did the best I could, and tried not to let the Slugs of the work space, change the way, I believe things should be done. And guess what? Believe it or not. I became the manager. They slowly disappeared. And everything runs as smooth as ice. Keep your head up. It will pay off in the long run. And the pay is great. Good Luck.

Have you talked to your supervisor? If not do it........the other option is the one that you don't want to do.

Leaving the job is an option that should never be taken off the table. However, you never leave a job unless your fired (that means unemployment-unless you really messed up), or you have a job to replace your current one.

Look you spend 40+ hours at work a week....why be miserable?
Stress only will shorten your life.

Start looking for something that fits your idea of a good job. Make sure that no one know what your doing. Also, make sure you tell potential employers that they are not to call your current job.

You have a serious situation. My recommendation is to take your ideas to some other company where the could be appreciated, just realize that you can't compete against your co-workers because you will end at the same spot, without help or support. I understand that you want to set a goal and get it noticed by everybody " or at least by your boss" but if nobody really helps or pays attention your efforts would be vane. Take your time, do your researches and switch company for one willing to listen but don't quit your ideas. Good luck!

I'm not quite sure what it is, then, that you're seeking to find since you acknowledge the most obvious way to deal with the situation.

Indignance is fine, but only when it produces results. Otherwise, you only tear yourself down in frustration. You also risk coming off as pompous and self-important when you view every other employee in your environment as lazy. Is there truly NO ONE else at your job that has your work ethic? And are you truly that far above reproach yourself that no one could find fault in you? Even if every single other person IS lazy, resolve that you are going to set yourself apart from that type of label.

Then, trust in the wisdom of your superiors: that they will be as 'discerning' as you are and realize who is deserving of recognition and reward, and who is not.

Good luck to you.

Just do your own thing, eventually your bosses will see that you are the only one accomplishing something and will reward you for it or recognize that you are a very hard worker. My friend is in a similar situation and she just keeps her eyes on the want ads.

just take a deep breath and continue doing your job, not theirs. sooner or later the boss will see what's going on, or probably not. Really the best thing for you to do is to find another job, because if you're having this much trouble controlling your temper, your just not in the right job for you.

The US Postal Service has run into this issue several times and they have a rather refreshing means of solving the problem.
