So, I just bought a new blowdryer with a diffuser attachment, and it doesn't have any instructions for how to use it exactly. It's a Conair Infiniti, and it was the most expensive one they had, so I'm sure it's good. But, I don't know how long I should use it, how often to use it, any specific techniques in using it, etc. Also, should I use gel or mousse before using it, to make my curls more distinguishable? I have pretty long thick hair, and I usually go for the straight look, but I go curly when I don't have the time to fix it. I would usually just mousse my hair and go. But I know that a diffuser will make my hair look much better when curly, so the curls actually stand out, instead of fuzz out. Also, do you think that by my doing this, it will prevent my hair from going frizzy in humid weather, like Hawaii or any beach weather? Please give me some instructions, tips and hints for how to get the most out of my new diffuser.I'd really appreciate the hair help!

I have wavy hair, just below my sholders, and I just started using a diffuser earlier this summer and now i use it all the time! Your curls will look great if u use the diffuser! I
This is what i do:
-towel dry ur hair a little bit, but dont rub too hard or you will risk frizz.
-rub styler of your choice between your palms and apply to hair, making sure to get it all over. I use tresseme (sp?) curling milk, but mousse or gel would work too, i think!
-flip your hair upside down and put the diffuser up to your scalp, gathering hair in it along the way. Hold for 20 seconds or so, play it by ear.
- repeat all over your head till almost dry.
- Flip hair back up, and style how you want it to rest.
-Spritz with hair spray all over (not too much tho)
- Turn the diffuser back on and put to your scalp again, with ur curls gathered in it. (dont flip upside down this time)
- it should be all dry by now, and you are done! Just finger style now and you are out the door!!

thE BEST WAY TO USE IT IS:
Hopefully you go to a salon regulary and are able to get professional products. You are looking for a light-heavy hold styling aid for curly hair. That way after you are finished diffusing your hair its not in a big fuzz ball. You can use gel (try Biolage Gellee for a strong hold)

Towel dry your hair and then add a small amount of gel or styling aid throughout your hair.

Then simply scrunch, scrunch, scrunch using the difuser to scruch it. The diffuser really just lets air more evenly dry your curly hair without making it too fuzzy. They are the best things ever.
If you decide not to use a styling aid or dont want such a stong hold Biolage also has a line just for curly hair and they are light hold products that give you the effect you want with out the frizz and damage from the heat of the blowdryer. OR you can simply use a wet (pump) hairspray and occasionally stop diffusing and spray all over to hold the curl!

Good luck!

i'm no hairstylist, yet I have a diffuser and lengthy hair too. after I wash and condition my hair, I towel dry and artwork a anti frizz serum and body improving mousse by my hair with a broom and/or my palms. in view that my hair is lengthy, it truly is continuously more desirable uncomplicated to dry in sections. Use some clips to area the authentic and bottom and then the right and left sections (like in 4 quadrants). Dry from roots to ends so the hair will be a lot less frizzy. even as the hair is basically about dry, turn your hair over and artwork the roots slightly more desirable to operate quantity and unfasten curl with your palms. turn the hair back and artwork with palms slightly more desirable to get the form basically the way you want it and upload truly a ending hairpsray. it truly is various labor, so i do not do all of it the time, yet once you get it proper, it seems great.

I have curly hair and use a diffuser. I usually put a leave in conditioner on my hair after I get out of the shower. I let my hair dry naturally about half way (if I have time). I then diffuse my hair upside down until completely dry.
