I've always wondered that.
I always get the same response...
"God works in mysterious ways".
What a bunch of bullhonky. It's a way of saying "I have no idea... but assuming that you're right would mean a total revamp of my faith, so there must be SOME explination that I can't fathom. I'll just say it's a mystery, that the answer is out there but I can't wrap my head around it. But trust me..... uh... there's a reason. Only God knows, though. And... he won't tell. And...... we can't know him."
Oy.

Oh you people ragging on homosexuals, get off it. How long are you going to cling to those few Biblical quotes that may or may not even have referenced homosexuality in the first edition? Forever, I'm sure. Of course, the REST of the educated world knows that modern medicine and psychology have been providing us with the truth about homosexuality for at least 3 decades. Yeah, I know, the Bible has a few years on that stance. Thousands verses tens. Of course, consider the sources:
A book full of impossibilities and contradictions written by a superstitious, simple nomadic tribe of people who couldn't possibly understand the world around them and sought answers in myth and magic.
AND
A highly educated group of credible authorities fully capable of understanding the world around them and the intricate inner-workings of the human mind.
I think I'll take quality of stance over quantity of years.
Oh, and that argument about "God can take your life because he gave it". Um... doesn't that go DIRECTLY to the point of the question asked? Hi, don't we have LAWS against exactly that? You can't kill your kids just because you gave birth to them or just because they're the descendant of your genetic material. But GOD, oh... oh... he can snuff you out in the bat of an eyelash just because? We don't think of saying "hey God, hold on there, think about this......."?? Oh no no NO, that would be questioning his great plan, heaven forbid (pardon the pun)!! Who are WE to say that capricious killing is a big bad thing to do?

We belong to God, period. The "jealousy" that the Bible talks about is NOT a sinful jealousy, like what you would feel if your wife were talking to another guy, and you were so insecure that you became filled with rage. God wants the exclusive devotion of His people, and with good reason. What you are thinking of is more along the lines of "envy". You need to approach Biblical verses in context.
Homosexuality is a sin against God, and for that matter, a sin against nature. We were not created to perform the perverted acts that homosexuals do. A simple study of biology should clear that one up. And please, don't start with the "gays are born that way" stuff - there's not a shred of evidence to suggest that is the case.
God has the authority to begin and end life as He sees fit. Get used to it. He gave you life as well. Be thankful.
God will not damn you for calling him a jerk. If you deny Christ, and happen to die without accepting Him, then you have a huge problem on your hands. And it is one that will last forever. It ain't no party.
You will probably continue to refer to it as "second rate morality" until you understand enough to accept it. I hope this occurs sooner rather than later.

You are right in seeking answers. God wants you to search your soul and seek God and His word for the correct answers.
God is loving and just God. He sent His Son to die for us. His blood washed ALL our sins away. So how is it you believe that Homosexuals are going to Hell?? Sin, in God's eyes is equal. However the worst sin of all is to grieve the spirit. The holy spirit can never return if you do that. Continuing, Sin is all equal. So if you gossip or commit adultery, are you going to Hell? There is only one way to God, it is through Jesus. Not simply by good acts on earth. You have to accept Jesus as your personal savior and then you have a place in Heaven. You must only worship God and no other and so no matter the sins we commit in our journey, it is up to God to Judge them. And he does. I'm pretty sure I don't get what you are getting at. You do sound angry at God and that's ok. God would rather have you cold then luke-warm. What has happened to this world is man and sinning. Not God. He sent His Son to save us. It is up to us to recognize this and accept it and worship only Him. Man has the freedom of free-will given by God. But because we are all sinners it is our nature to sin and do wrong things. It is only through Christ that we are able to see the light. This world is too big and scary and I feel sorry for the people who do not have Jesus in their heart. I will pray for you.

God is jealous for us to know Him and to know eternal life. That I would consider a good jealousy.
God does NOT send Homosexuals to Hell. They choose that path by disobeying God. If you had a teenager who broke the rules of the house, I would expect that there would be punishment.
God did destroy most of the people of the world prior to the flood due to their severe disobedience, but His grace was such that He found one faithful to continue living.
Again, God does not damn you for calling Him a jerk. He allows you to do as you wish and choose the path that is made known to you. You choose to be dammed. God just tells you the consequences of your actions.

I think that you are looking at it the wrong way.
If one believes in God, then He is the gold standard by which one lives. A religious person doesn't question His authority and pre-eminence.
Your comments point to the idea that you may be a non-believer. If that is true, then You can't judge God's actions because, for you, He doesn't exist.
If you are a believer, then you need to study your religion and attempt to obtain a historical and faith based perspective. Based on your comments, you are surely ignorant of all religious teachings.

Be careful what you say. If you get him pissed off he will send a big comet to bash into Earth and watch as all life is extinguished. Its no big deal though just 10 minutes of play for him. Don't forget he has the whole universe to play with.

God is only who you, as a person, makes him out to be. the people who wrote the bible, or should i say, decided which books should be read by everyone, decided that he would be a jealous god who would condemn you to "hell" if you stepped out of line. in my opinion, it was only printed for the sole purpose to scare people into being "morally" correct.

I think that it's easy to displace god because we have to have faith in something we can't see. Rely on something we can't touch. America has to have rules just like the bible gives us a set of guidelines to live by. Not saying that they are all correct, but we must govern ourselves accordingly.

They're brains are fully washed before they are old enough to criticially examine the programming they receive. Now they respond wihout considering the irrationality of the response. Curious they can still recognize irrational mythology of other cultures they consider cults, but have the same inanities in their own faith and they can't see it.
